Firstly , Jim Ross is EXTREMELY relevant in my eyes. Living Legend , greatest voice in wrestling history. Ric throws out this specific quote around 3:20 that Ross apparently said "You have to know when to walk away from Ric Flair" . What's wrong with that ? I think everyone needs to know when to walk away from anyone else in situations , especially when Alcohol is involved. I think it's tragic Ric can't see past that statement with Ross and understand what Ross was saying on the greater scheme of the situations . Ross practically defended him otherwise that whole DSOTR episode.

Your comment sounds like it's coming from a person who has experienced this. I have great friends I've had to walk away from and it's hard to do. I pride myself on being a good friend, being the type of friend I want to have, but it's impossible to be a friend to someone when their sole purpose is self destruction. I have friends who have got so caught up in their own mess that I can't be a part of it. If they called me now needing anything I would do anything I could to help them, but I can't be around them on a daily or weekly basis anymore. When you think about the people he used to be close with and is rumored to not speak to anymore, it seems Flair is one of those people. He prefers enablers and those that encourage his bad decisions over real friends that tell him the truth and hold him accountable.

Lost good friends in the process doing so, kids I grew up with. And honestly at that time I didn’t completely quit, I just picked better people to hang out with. People that went 50 mph instead of 250 mph if that analogy makes sense. Anyways I’m in my mid 50s now, clean and sober for some time and sadly, watching as those people that were going balls to the wall no longer breathing air. The partying life is a tough row to hoe indeed.

@@Principaledpragmatist Unfortunately , it's a problem I've had to experience within my own family. My story definitely isn't as bad as others , but there's physical and emotional pain that will be felt for a lifetime. I've seen what a simple drink can do to a room , and the people in it , and it's forced me to avoid ever drinking in life. For some people , getting drunk isn't an option , it's built in them to avoid people that abuse drinking entirely , and with Ric nearing dying from internal deterioration due to alcohol abuse , you would think he'd understand that . Respect your stance on being a good friend until it's no longer possible with certain people. It's the healthier option in the long run , even if those people never come back into your life in a healthy manner , you did your best but preserved your morality not to follow them into that hole.

@@al5306 And I love living in an alternate timeline where every time a woman claims that they've been abused its always automatically true. People are innocent until proven guilty. That's the bottom line. If you can't understand this concept, imagine how much it would suck if you wake up tomorrow and someone you've interacted with in your past started making an uproar on national television about how you abused them, even though that never happened. The Johnny Depp trial is a textbook example of this.
@theazureknight9399

@DarwinAward What does "red pill shit" has to do with anything? I'm talking about facts here, everybody is innocent until proven guilty and that's the bottom line, this isn't my opinion. But since you wanna talk about assumptions and probabilities, let's do it. Flair is indeed known for doing the stupid naked robe shit, and there are accounts of him doing it even in other occasion. But assuming that him doing this also means that he'd be willing to rape someone, is one massive leap in logic. One can be a pervert who likes to show off his cock without being a rapist. Now let's be very clear here, I'm not excluding the possibility that the lady could be telling the truth. What I am saying is that there's not nearly enough evidence here to crucify Flair like you guys are doing. People like you guys are the reason why so many Americans spend years in jail only to get released when the justice system finally figures out that they were innocent. Some aren't so lucky, they get in the death row before being found innocent. Have some empathy. This kind of injustice exists, and can happen to you or one of your loved ones too. We can't be so quick to burn people at the stake. And the guy who wrote the first comment wasn't even defending Flair, he got blasted for merely wanting to hear his side of the story.

Ric Flair is the greatest in ring wrestler in my 50+ years. Very few wrestlers have influenced pop culture more the Flair. He is without a doubt one of my all time favorites. All that said, it's sad that all he has left is still living the gimmick of being "The Nature Boy Ric Flair" Look around and see who he's actually got left in his life after a lifetime of wrestling. He's alienated almost everyone by his words and deeds, and the very few left I dare say have a lesser view of him than they did in the past. I'll still watch these posts, and will always look at Ric as "The Man", but damn, at what point will he realize he's not long for this world and be at peace with those around him.
