Not possible in modern F1. The cars aren't as manoeuvrable. Too heavy, tyres too sensitive and braking zones too short. Maybe in 2026 but I doubt it.

He made them think he isn't gaining further by decreasing throttle and then rivals chose racing line again because of that. Then he suddenly dive bombs inside

A lot of people talk about Ricciardo falling off but he was genuinely a great driver. If it wasn't for the sheer car dominance of the Merc in the early V6-Turbo era (2014-2018) he likely had a real chance at winning a WDC. It's sad how it ended for him but I hope he can find success in some other motorsport. Tbh I still maintain he is better than Perez.

You can visually see how heavier the 2022-24 car is, in the slow corners. It looks more sluggish and lazier on the front end than the 2014 or 2017 car.

Kinda. Max did it to Leclerc in Bahrain 2022, but had nowhere near a good enough exit to keep position.

@@SURGASURGE12 Yep, they really nerfed the switchback etc too because of the sluggish behaviour and (not sure if its true but it looks like it) high entry speed. Its sad as it makes DRS and straight line speed more important at the same time

F1 will miss him,such a nice and positive guy. He should have never left Red Bull, he probably thought Renault could have become the next Mercedes, it was a very risky decision and unfortunately it didn't pay off.

The onboards don't do the Vettel one justice, the offboard shot from front on shows just how aggressive the move under Seb's rear wing was. I was up out of my seat and cheering at that one, great move.

RB gave Max a free pass after that Baku crash and Riccardo was just done with them. Too bad it ended that way. I don't think he would have beat Max to a wdc but he certainly would have outperformed every driver that was in that seat after he left.

you saw what happened on baku 2018, right? this move is only safe to pull off on drivers who don't move under braking (both verstappen, ocon and 90% of newgen drivers do that except piastri, leclerc)

Once he started driving poor midfield cars he lost his techniques and wasn’t confident. He ran after the money instead of facing the challenge of Max at Red Bull he mirrored Alonso career after 2007 only problem is he cannot outperform a car but he beat Vettel so it goes to show how Vettel did not deserve at least 2 of his championships because in 2010 & 2012 he wasn’t the best driver. Even if Webber or Hamilton or Alonso won 2010 they would be worthy but 2012 it had to be Alonso

I feel like he couldn't fully adapt to the newer design of the cars starting at Mclaren. That affected his driving style causing him to lose pace overall.

Ricciardo was truly something else, he had the talent and such a bright personality at the time, and even his personality has faded over the years, same thing happened to Vettel, will it happen with Max? I think that’s why Hamilton is such a great driver, he still delivers after all these years…

Incumbent drivers always have an advantage over driver change. You should never leave your seat and go for a more secure midfielder as he did it. Alonso did it too. I'm sure if he'd stayed in Red Bull he would have got at least one title in battle with Max
