RICH DAD POOR DAD
Narrated by Robert Kiyosaki
I had two parents, one rich, the other poor. One was highly educated and intelligent, a Ph.D., having completed a four-year college course in two years. He continued his studies at Stanford University, the University of Chicago, Northwestern University to improve and deepen his knowledge; received a scholarship everywhere. The education of the second ended in the middle of the eighth grade.
Both men were successful in their careers, working hard all their lives. Both had substantial incomes. However, one of them had financial problems all his life. Another became one of the richest people in Hawaii. One died leaving tens of millions of dollars to his family, charitable foundations and his church. Another left behind debts that needed to be paid.
Both men were strong, charismatic and influential personalities. They gave me advice that was radically different from each other. They both wholeheartedly believed in the power of knowledge, but they recommended me different educational approaches.
If I had only one father, I could take or reject his advice. However, having two parents who each gave me their own advice, I had a choice between two completely opposite points of view. One of them was the rich man's point of view and the other was the poor man's point of view.
Instead of simply accepting or rejecting one or another opinion, I thought, compared and chose what was closer to me.
The problem was that the rich was not yet rich and the poor was not yet poor. Both were just starting their careers, and both tried their best to get money together with their families. However, they have completely different points of view regarding money. old x were
For example, one dad often said: "Love of money is the root of all evil." And another: "Lack of money is the root of all evil" -
As a young man who had two strong fathers who had a serious influence on my mind, it was not easy for me. I wanted to be a good son and listen to their words, but their advice had a completely different meaning. The contrast between their points of view, especially when it came to money, was so great that I actually became more and more interested and intrigued. I thought for a long time about what each of my parents told me.
I spent a lot of my free time thinking about questions like: "Why does he say that?", asking them in relation to what each of my parents said. It was 6 much easier to just decide: "Yes, he is right." I agree with what he said." Is someone's opinion simply dismissed, saying, "The old man doesn't know what he's talking about." Instead, having two parents whom I loved, I was forced to think and ultimately make my own decisions, choosing for myself my own way of thinking. This process of reflection turned out to be much more valuable to me in the end than simply accepting or rejecting someone's particular opinion could have been.
One of the reasons the rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class goes into debt is because the subject of money is taught at home, not at school. Most of us learn about money from our parents. So what can a poor father tell his child about money? He simply tells her, "Go to school and study hard." A child can graduate from school with honors, but with the mindset and financial programming of a poor person. After all, this has been embedded in her mind since childhood.
