100% agreed! This is why I talk so much about quitting your minimum wage job and working online so much in my videos. Bc 20-30k in America you’re broke 20-30k in the Philippines you’re rich. Being able to shrink your rent from $1k to $50 is amazing

If you play it correctly, it’s definitely doable if you get a place for like $300 and then you find a girl that has her own money or you just cook at home every day and you don’t really go on vacation. You can totally do it, but I don’t like to tell people to do it because it’s not gonna be a glamorous life.
@vidong1704

@@JasperinthePhilippines For some older folks, that's all they need. At 31, you want glamour. At 65, you just want some peace and quiet. And a simple life. In Angeles City, rents are low, and you can live a normal life on it. I knew a guy who fed a wife and two kids on 880 Euros a month. But he did not use air conditioning.

You CAN live on $1000 a month, but you won't be going out to eat a lot, traveling often, etc. Of course it all depends on where you want to live, and how comfortable you want to be. If you don't mind living in a tiny home in the province, eating home-cooked low-budget meals every day, don't need the A/C on all the time, then sure $1k is very livable. If you want to live in a bigger city, like to get out more, want the A/C running 12 hours a day, $2k and up is the goal. If you want BGC/Makati lifestyle, it's best to aim for $3k.

There's definitely good and bad in both places. Trying to get some things done here (Phils) can be a pain sometimes. Everything seems to take a little longer, have an extra step to take, etc. Prices are cheaper on most things but certainly not everything. While it seems a lot of people are out to scam you, you eventually realize that they're doing what they can to survive, so you be smart and not get fooled. Is it easier here if the police pull you over, and you simply slide the guy 500p and get no ticket. Rent is a joke here compared to the U.S. insane prices. Women, no compairson imo..I wish I was here when I was a 30 year old lol.

Some expatriates from wealthier countries, particularly those whose broke ass pensions that may allow them to live more comfortably abroad than they could at home, are often the biggest assholes. This may contrast with wealthier individuals who may choose to live abroad, such as in the Philippines, for cultural appreciation rather than cost of living because cost of living anywhere in the world doesn't matter, and who might have a different attitude and respect for the local culture. Makes you go hmmm..... I stay away from most expats, especially when they are in large groups and alcohol is involved.

@@JasperinthePhilippines Yea man I agree, it's the unfortunate reality. With a couple of grand a month, some people suddenly feel like they're on top of the world in places like the Philippines or Thailand, and it can bring out the worst in them.
