completely agree//it works particularly for well for this solo transcription. I personally like this , a lot. I when I performed this on stage w ensemble I tried to relax things as best i could but for the group, we had to take it at a faster clip, so i let it relax a bit in the solo/interludes where I could. It's a flexible work and there's wiggle room in there for a range but yeah I tend to lean towards the the lower end of the spectrum.

While most will say this is Rach on the cheap, and Addinsell was tasked with composing music for a movie to sound like Rach and not a serious classical symphony, I will give Addinsell credit for knowing Rach's music well enough to compose a really good pastiche of Rach with enough talent and seriousness that classical pianists play it in concert programs.

Patricia, may God bless you. Music is the heart's poetry projected through song or playing an instrument. It has helped keep me happy throughout my Life, in spite of some dark and trying times. With Music and my Father, God's help, the Sun and Son always shined again for me. I hope God does the same for you, and I know He will. After all, Music came from Him, in Heaven. We never think of our parents as young, vibrant, brave men and women who were so handsome and beautiful, so full of life. We know them as adults, some stooped by hard work and responsibilities caring for us. We may not have seen them struggling as youngsters trying to carve out a career, absorbing the hardships and blows of life, but might have seen them when they had reached a measure of success and making it look easy. So we think they are just old and fuddy duddies devoid of imagination and action. At one time they were probably bigger bad asses than we will ever be, especially if they are of the Greatest Generation.

beautifully played, this warschau concerto. well it works so funny to see, at 0:02, his aspirational fingers hitting twice five neighbouring white keys, swapping hands, and trying to suggest the sounding minor chords being played this way. just so funny .

This is such a beautiful interpretation of this piece. I agree with a previous comment that a lot of performers take this much too fast, it's supposed to be a melancholic piece, not performed with the speed and fury of spewed curses when stepping on a lego. I did notice that it sounds like this version is transposed up a half step - I actually think I prefer it like this, even though it throws me for a loop because it sounds different from when I've played it. I wonder if it's been digitally altered to comply with youtube copyright laws or if the piano itself was tuned up a half step?

Film z którego pochodzi Koncert Warszawski opowiada historię polskiego pianisty i pilota Stefana Radeckiego (w głównej roli - Anton Walbrook), w czasie II Wojny Światowej. Radecki brał udział w "Bitwie o Anglię" w polskim dywizjonie lotniczym. W tragicznej sytuacji okupowanej Polski żołnierze, marynarze i piloci podjęli heroiczną i braterską walkę w bitwie o wolność. Dla nich ( jak sami mówili) była to "Wyspa ostatniej nadziei" - 'The Island of the Last Hope'

There's a Japanese proverb that says, "Trust the experts for the job," and this song says exactly that. Apparently, he first asked Rachmaninoff to do it and was turned down. This is the correct answer. The cheesiness of the film is also wonderful, as it was for the era in which it was made.

Prob. not a good idea to use the closeup to start with. The hands don't match the notes we're hearing. This was a problem in the movie too. It was too obvious. As for the tempo here - I can argue it's a bit too slow and the piece loses the power it has!
