From the woods to the arms of his family, Richard's transformation is incredibly touching.
As we continue our 'Love Your Neighbor' campaign, we'd love to share a story with you.
Not that long ago, Richard was living in the woods. His schizophrenia and diabetes were out of control, and he was exposed to harsh conditions every day.
With dedication and effort, Richard worked hard with Micah Ministries, learning to manage his health and finally reconnecting with his family.
The joy Richard felt stepping into his new life is matched only by the pride he's regained. Homelessness is no longer his present but a memory that sharpens his gratitude for his current comforts. He stands today with a renewed sense of pride, a testament to what one can achieve with the right support and a will to change.
Richard's story isn't just about finding housing; it's about rejoining the society he longed to be a part of. It's about showing his family, and perhaps more importantly himself, that he could rise above his circumstances. Richard thanks Micah, but we know how much more of it was his own work than ours. Our housing ministry, hospitality center, and Healthbridge were all supporting factors in the decisions that Richard made.
To those who support Micah, your contributions have echoed in Richard's life, and for that, he offers heartfelt thanks. Please share this video and allow more to see the goodness that is happening through the tapestry of love being woven in our community!
