Thank you Rick for this treat! I found a couple from Jim bitter that suspend I believe along with a bunch of other cheap tackle in a country store that was bought out a few years ago I think I got them for 3 bucks a piece.

Rick, Really enjoyed that. I still have a couple long-A's. I wonder how cold the water was that time of year. I understand some lakes can still be in the fifties at time when you hear depending on where they are in the country. Looks like you got a lot of stories in that case I can't wait to hear them all. I think I was at that early 1990's tournament weigh in at Kentucky Lake when Norio Tanabe won using a weighted clown colored rogue on the main lake points. Got several good pictures of some legends like Rick walking through the weigh in line.

I've caught quite a few fish on those Bomber Long A's. Trolling and casting. In Florida and in Costa Rica. And all in the saltwater. I caught snook casting them and king mackerel trolling them in Florida, and big mackerel, jacks, bonito and little yellowfin tuna trolling them in Costa Rica. The only problem I ever had with them was hooks straightening out because I had the drag too tight with 20 lb test or heavier line. I really liked the red headed white body models, especially the jointed ones.

Keep cranking out the content, Rick 👍🏻 Happy New Year to You and Yours. I’ll never forget our long conversation one on one at Bass Pro in St. Charles, MO. You may remember.. a big Italian guy jumped in our conversation for your opinion about using WD-40 as fish attractant - and I just about lost it, laughing so hard. I had never heard about people using an anti-corrosive as an attractant, so when some guy asked my favorite angler, a living legend, that question right in front of me, it really stuck with me. No, I’ve never given the idea a try. I don’t know enough about the science behind the matter. BUT, it sure was funny!

I'm really looking forward to more lure stories from your bait museum, Rick, especially the Floyd's Buzzer and Lunker Lure buzzbait. That great catch you made on Kentucky Lake was actually in April. We'll see you at the Grand Lake BM Classic!

I think I was in 27th in the standings that year and couldn’t get off from work and make that event. I fished a local event that Sunday and won it on that same pattern. Before they made suspending Jerk Baits if you knew to weight your own it was like they were giving away free money every spring around here, lol.

Still using an old bomber long A I found on the bank year ago. Very buoyant and doesn’t dive more than 3ft. Floating jerkbaits still produce for me in shallow water!

Your a legend ,Mr Clunn. I have your Wright and McGill s-Glass crankin rod (7ft m/hvy) & its the BEST lipless rod I've ever used because I do NOT lose fish.Rods too soft to lose fish.Helps make LONG casts too. I too, turn floaters into suspenders by wrapping thin guage wire around the hook shanks ; as you can see in this vid here kzitem.info/news/bejne/rmp3znugZqCchqQsi=QXrH9zEU1CxWncqt ; and had success 1 time on a strike king lil 100mm floater. The Only floater ,& shes a slow riser I've ever smashed em on is the Lucky Craft Air Slash. Can't wait to throw those Ichikawa deep divers (flat sides ) once we get out this arctic blast.God Bless you & yours ,Sir.

His "World Championship Bass Fishing" book (with writer Steve Price) was published in 1978, but is now hard to find and expensive. Hopefully he will write another book. The book, " Bass Wars" by Nick Taylor might interest you. It's easier to find.
