This man deserves more credit than he gets. Fantastic guitarist and vocalist. He's done a fine job in LS but Blackfoot is where its at for me.

Rickey is one of the Southern rock legends left with us. As others have said, very under rated and under appreciated. He was with Skynyrd at the beginning and at the end. What a fabulous career. Thanks Rickey!

I have to share this story. I first heard about Lynyrd Skynyrd back in High School. I didn't know anything about the musicians because at the time I was a piano player. Some years ago when I took up guitar and bass, I heard a solo by Rickey Medlocke on "Everyman" and I heard an interview where Rickey talked about how he learned guitar and I was in love from then on with him as an artist. I admire his skills and although I'm more of a Hard Rock and Metal rocker I still love his band Blackfoot and I love Lynryd Skynyrd too. Def happy on his Hall of Fame performance🥰🎸 I'm going to play like Mr. Medlocke when I grow up!!

Ricky called me and a friend and asked us to meet him in downtown Nashville to eat with him in 1995, he drove off in a van with a U haul hooked up..year later he would join Lynyrd Skynyrd. We grew up on Blackfoot, watched them blow Molly Hatchet off the stage in 1980. Jakson use to call me around 2000, he made some nice Indian jewelry.

If you ever saw Blackfoot opening for ted or at a festival, you KNOW: we all love LS…however, these gentlemen here? Yeah, Blackfoot ROCKS!!!!!!! Their bass player unwittingly influenced millions. His bass was like a depth charge that reached into your chest grabbed your spine and shook you around while asking is “anyone is home”. It was visceral it was a physical manifestation of everything in life that kicks ass!!!! Ricky Medlocke? The entire band is severely underrated. MAKE MINE BLACKFOOT. PS. I got the ‘40 Ford, the snakeskins on but never got a chance to hang with Doctor Jackson.
