I disagree that we should just accept shoddy manufacturing on an expensive frame just because there is something that happens to cost more. If I got a Toyota Camry that had a bent crankshaft in the engine, I'd still be upset, even though Lamborghini sells a more expensive car, that's beside the point.

I find that many people on the internet complain about the "poor quality" and expect perfection from the Chinese branded and open mold frames, yet don't scrutinize the big brands to the same extent when they cost 5-10x as much. I've bought many cheap frames and have never been disappointed. Setting your expectations appropriately and having a bit of DIY know-how goes a long way, this goes for the western brands too!

The M-49 Falath seems smaller in every way except seat tube, not sure it would be comfortable, while the L-52 has a +3cm seat tube with a slightly shorter top tube and same reach... I'd be losing some seat post height but could run the bars lower... part of it is aesthetic, I hate the short seat post look lol.

I also have short legs long torso although I’m a bit shorter than you at 5’9, my inseam is 2’8 +/- I was also back and forth between the M & L frames but ultimately with my bike fit data felt the smaller frame was the better choice. Ive ridden plenty of OEM frames without UCI testing and Ive never had an issue and my first bike that I ever bought was over 12 years ago from Yishun and I still use it to this day as my winter bike. Ive just ordered my Falath Evo (After watching Hambinis video) with the TH50D wheel set and Im sure that the UCI wouldn't want to taint their image by approving a sub par frame builder. Eastern carbon frames and wheels have become so good as of late that the only option now is to nitpick at the smallest details to find "fault" because the previous fear mongering campaign of poor construction quality and the frame breaking just doesn't hold any water and I guarantee that if quality was truely a issue that it would be front page of all cycling outlets but its not, you need to dig in the bowls of the forms to find that one random person who can barely walk straight let alone ride a bike to have had a crash and then blame the Eastern Carbon frame.

I’ve seen nothing but positive comments in terms of ride quality and performance from almost every Elves owner I’ve come across on all platforms be it Reddit, KZitem, Twitter, Online Forums etc. Hambini’s comments come purely from an engineering perspective. Those defects he’s pointed out could have absolutely no effect on ride quality, which judging by the vast majority of comments seems to be the case. It’s like a scratch on the inside of car door, no one will ever see it and it has no effect on performance, it might get an engineer or two worked up though. I think it’s also worth noting that we’ll known brands could have the exact same issues it’s just that no one is scrutinising them the same way Chinese brands are being scrutinized.

Or those positive comments comes from a sense of dissonance? These folks spent good money on a brand that they can’t resell off if it’s shit. Hi, I was thinking about buying this bike, since my front rim got damaged due to overheating. My resistance against disc brake wheels is now broken and I'm now willing to leave the world of rim brakes...:) So far I'm riding the Elves Falath Pro Rim Brake version of 2021, (that now should be replaced) and I was always a bit worried about the geometry. I'm also nearly 6 foot, but I think my arm length is nothing unusual as well as my inseam length, which is 84,5cm, converted to inches=33,27 :) My falath is size 56, but in my case this seems to small. I did a bike fitting and the result was adding 6cm(2,35inches) of spacers. I removed like 1cm, but still this feels and looks not right. The reach also feels a bit short, even with a 110mm stem. Of course thats also consequence of all the spacers 'setting' the reach back towards the seat. Nevertheless the reach of the old falath, as well as your evo, is pretty short naturally. I now find it very interesting, that you went for an even smaller frame than usual :D Do you have like a number for me, whats the effective stack on your bike, with added spacers, up to the handlebar? That would be great :) I just found out, that elves now offers an Evo + version, with much longer reach :O So far it seems only to be existing on the UK website: uk.elvesbike.com/products/elves-falath-evo-carbon-road-disc-framesets-uci-approved?VariantsId=13205 Best Regards from Germany Marian

GC - do you have any more info on the TT / Tri conversion you mentioned? I have an Elves Falath EVO as my road bike and use it for Triathlon. I am planning to get a Tri frame next year to build up a dedicated triathlon bike, but the price on those is crazy. If I could convert the Faleth EVO into a dedicated Tri bike by flipping the seat post and adding a TT handlebar, I could save money by getting an Elves Vanyar to build up as a standard road bike. With respect to fitting, I'm 1.88m (~6'2") and went for the 59 and run it with no spacers and about 15cm (6") of seat post sticking out. I had to cut the seat post down a little to get it in that far. Handlebars are 380/100, but I'm more leg than body. Only problem I had putting mine together was the poor quality screws on the brake mounts. I used the ones supplied with the bike rather than the SRAM ones and regretted it after they rounded very easily. I needed to extract them with the help of a Dremel. Other than that it went together really easily, built up with SRAM Rival AXS and Hunt 50mm wheels, total cost was about £2500 - bargain! I've put a few thousand km on it over the summer, including a couple of races, where it did a good job keeping up with the guys on TT bikes - even won my age group in the local sprint triathlon. Longest single ride was a little over 100km and I've had no comfort issues.

If you watched the video not only did my frame have an issue with the fork but I also built up 3 other random customers bikes then brought to me that they bought themselves and I charged them for the build. In this case they were all the same and those users are having great experiences

I mentioned it, and I said it was wrong, I didnt look at mine becuase at my store we do hiugh volume and we expect bike companioes to do there job as well, but when I built my bike it took a good amount of force to tighten it into the frame and just like hambini said, it was wrong and bad but nothing some retaining compond cant fix but in any matter i never had a bb fall out of the hole

@@GCPerformance18 it just that people are just triggered when someone pointing faults on a bike even with the price point of 1300$. I referred the shimano cranks. Its because when i pointed the problem out my mates would just defend shimano like they didnt have made such products. This comment is not pointed at your video. Whatever hambini say doesnt discredit your review for me.

Way to much for a carbon frame. Buy from a well known OEM like Lightcarbon or Dengfu. $550 for a carbon frame and fork.

@@GCPerformance18 yea and what are people saying about the bike industry? I mean you have GCN trying to justify a 15k road bike to a 13k superbike which to further piss ppl off you can get a solid 600cc Honda for 3k, a road bike for 3k gets you china like wuhh?? how does that make sense? Relativity can only justify so much until you have to question the market your being compared too. But to be fair we need more content promoting the knock offs honestly normalizing it to the point where it’s being chosen more than big name brands. Competition will make those prices less obscured

This isn't an aero bike btw. It's larping as an aero bike, there was no cfd or windtunnel work done during the design process for this and it's clear to see with the rectangular cross shapes and that fat fucking heatube
