Nice... LOL it makes you look like a little boy on a play tractor... Its amazing how these small tractors were made back then... I don't have one that old but I do have two from the early sixties... I could not believe the power of these small tractors and what you can do with them.

If you want to make it unstoppable put dual rear tires on. Two extra wheels, spacers, and longer studs and it will pull most anything without digging in like the singles do when loaded. Those wheels are easy to find. Mine has been used to tow much larger equipment over the years with no problems. Still have the original K90 Kohler. I have a sandy lot (like beach sand) and it never gets bogged down.

to make the screen you will need to get a stiff mesh screen. it will need to be a fairly fine mesh similar to the flywheel screens on old briggs engines. that will be the hardest thing youll need to find. you will need some stiff coat hanger wire to make the clip and some tin snips or wire cutters to cut and shape the screen. you should'nt have too much an issue. when you make the screen it should be a rounded bowl shape so it looks like the original would have. ill send you pics sometime.

The original colors are green and yellow. The green was a darker metallic green and the yellow was also a darker shade. Something like IH yellow.

According to " MrandMrsSmith" Bolens never had a green and yellow paint scheme. Sorry, you are WRONG. I had the same tractor, and it came green and yellow. I also wrote to the Bolens Company and got a Owners Manual for mine, and it was also green and yellow. Wish I still had mine.

Next time you want to shut the engine turn the valve all to the right, do not use old gas, keep your tank full of gas, cover the equipment or bring the equipment under a roof. edward

just go easy on the jet you wont need to move it much. just move it ever so slightly until it smooths out. man you need a flywheel screen. i have one on my k-90. i could take some pic's of it and the clip that holds it if you'd like. im sure you could garage engineer something that looks proper for it. it will keep crap from blocking your cooling fins. and its an invitation for mice when its open like that. good thing the schroud isnt held on by much.

Learn to winter rize the equipment remove all the gasoline from the tank, remove the spark plug add 30ml of oil, put the plug bak in place only by hand. Remove the magneto, remove any rust, cover with white grease. cover the equipment with a blanket, and nylon give shelter. When you operate the equipment use a new gas, replace the oil after the winter, do not race the engine fivelands1
