One of my favorite subway train riding experiences of my life. So much more pleasant than New York or London. The architecture of their tunnels are beautiful. I really like the architecture of the multimodal transit center Union Station

What I like about the DC metro is that it travels along, not one, but two highway medians; I-66 for the Orange Line and SR 267 for the Silver with a small portion of I-66 before splitting. Other rapid transits that do this are the Baltimore Metro Subwaylink, BART, MARTA, SEPTA MFL, and the Chicago L. It also serves Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland, and a town called Alexandria.

I reckon that only electronic rider and fare data are collected, because the only way to pay for DC Metrorail fares is by SmarTrip card.

blue line train to Huntington is one in a lifetime thing to see (it was only in operation like this for 8 months being the reason and its cool to see) also what are the odds of seeing a money train that's so cool!

Great Video Man! I really like that the station is named Vienna (Wien) a city name in Austria! Very rare station name! Keep up the great work, as always!

As someone who lives in the suburbs of DC, I can tell ya that the station name of Vienna comes from the town it serves. Vienna is a rare name here in the US as you said and we are lucky here in the DC area to have a town in my home state known as Vienna, Virginia

@@alfonsoromario3078youre prolly talking about the Stainless Steel technology. Yeah DC and NYC metro use stainless steel trains. They look sleek to me imo. And ngl rail systems in the USA are actually mostly old. They were built prior to WW1 and doesnt get destroyed like in Europe.

Still very low ridership?
@Steve-tj9on
Жыл бұрын
It's improving..not low but declined ridership. The major cause was people working from home which in turn caused business in a lot of places to close due to covid shutdown.

As of May 2024, I would say it's about 60 - 70% of what it was before COVID. Still not to the point people are crushing each other like before, but it's pretty busy during peak. I think avg weekday ridership is like 500k
