I still have a GG 250 2018, bought the CDI and stator from 2019 model, thicker wires, and super important - bendix cover from new rieju has the bearings instead of aluminium. Oh there is one more thing, there is a vent in the bottom of stator cover in my case it sucked a lot of mud and water - all of that finally got in the bendix. I throw away the stanard gasket and used a engine silicone to fill that gap, same time i did the wet mode adding 50ml of oil to the bendix. Bike now starts without any problem, even in a gear when it warms up. Greetings from the deep forests of northern Poland

Though Rieju has improved the starting system still many riders have problems. Rule 1 is: first start of the day use the kicker, once engine is warm it will start with the button. If the bike has less bottom power than your TPI it needs to be re-jetted. I had a TPI (2018) myself and I am now on my third GasGas/Rieju and all of them were significantly stronger low and mid. @@PrimalEnduro Not 100 percent sure but friends say the Rieju comes with 49teeth rear sprocket while the GasGas (2018 and 2019) were equipped with a 48. I have a 49 installed so that I can do even steep climbs in second. Concerning the Kein I bought a 36 to replace the 38 Mikuni on my 2017 KTM 300 and that really worked better than expected, lots of low down grunt for the price of 3 horses at high revs. However, I thought the 36 will work as good on the GasGas/Rieju but I have to admit was not convinced. Built up revs and power super smooth but I missed the snap.... lets say you ride uphill and suddenly there's a log I could lift the front easier with the 38. I know that sounds rather illogical, but that's how I felt.

Yeah, here I am one year later, and I still have it. The starter is sorted out, but it's just a really poor design. I find if I kick it when its' cold, it will start right up. Once it's warm the e-start works fine... Until it won't. I raced a Sprint Enduro today and it ran like a dream. I'll keep it. It's my YZ450FX I need to get rid of. Be well. @user-fz8fy4zl1c

The stock tuning is very rich from the factory. The stock needle is a 1NEF and its just far too rich for decent bottom end. A NEDW needle with the power valve backed off half a turn did the trick for me. Just got mine and was surprised to see some new vids coming this way for them. We are a rental company out in Colorado and pretty excited to add a couple of these to our fleet.

I saw one of these at my local dealer just the other day, the photos don't do it justice the bike is absolutely gorgeous in my opinion. I still like my beta's a little better but I would say it's next on my list

i have an '18 Gasgas 250gp...wonderful bike. Just bought a Rieju 200 Ranger a few months ago. Love it. KYB suspension not totally dialed in and probably never will be as good as the high end setup on the 250gp. Both bikes are set up to be lowered, tuned, woods tractors. Great for trail riders like myself...

I love the idea of the 200 ranger being a smaller bike overall. Is the motor just a sleeved down 300 like the older GG 200's?

Yes. Its a sleeved down engine. It feels lighter than the 250gp but i really doubt that it is. Its not a smaller bike overall..as was the original plan....same frame, michelin tires, kickstart, kyb..but older technology, lowered, smaller carb, different pipe. Absolutely flat on the top end ..it lives on the first half of the throttle. Fun capable, woods bike. Another point of interest.. Rieju uses the wiring harness from the old Gasgas platform...set up with brake switches, wires for turn signals, I believe, horn button, mine are both street legal.

I don't know PE... I've had opportunity to ride a couple of older Gas-Gas 300's and they have about the strongest low-end of any bike I've ridden.

Not sure what the jetting was but my Beta 300 and the Sherco 300 felt stronger off the bottom. I'm sure a little jetting was in order or maybe I was feeling the difference between the 38mm carb on the Rieju vs 36mm on the Beta and Sherco. I wouldn't call it a massive difference though. I only had the bike for a short while. I would love to put some more time on it.

I have a 2021 ,The wet mod will fix the starter .Mine starts a cold bike instantly .Nedw needle ,2nd clip ,40 pilot ,Air screw 11/2 turnout (sea level}will turn it into a weapon .I did however replace the front brake master with a Brembo (9.5 mm) as the front Nissin master has no feel (personal preference)The Brembo bolted straight on ,You will need the Brembo 10mm brake line bolt as they are a different pitch to the Nissin. The 2022 bikes have the Wet mod done from the factory .

Earlier Rieju (in fact genuine GasGas) were the first to implement counter balancer in engine, had it in 1997. But due to people complaining about theoretical increase in weight, it was removed.

Hey, I had a 2018 300 gas gas EC (sadly it got stolen), I just simply did what most people recommended on forums : thicker gauge wire (battery ground/battery to starter relay/starter relay to starter), use the old ground battery wire to ground the starter to the frame if I remember correcty. Motobatt AGM battery (lot of CCA, but slighty bigger/thigh fit, and heavier). Also make sure that the bendix isn't too tight in the cover (=new gasket + correct torque spec). Fire right up both cold and hot, and in gear ! edit : Also using Ipone dextron 2R oil, less clutch drag when starting in gear

Good to know they can be reliable! Almost every video I see of one of these bikes, the rider is using the kicker. Had me worried the E-start was still not fixed?

@@PrimalEnduro Hm, I think 17/18 model had the most issue with the E-start, something like the starter drawing too much amp, and so the CDI wasn't firing the coil, also some other had issues with the bendix shaft being too tight in cover. Not sure what they improved since then !

hi brother spaniard here, have a 2002 ec 250 factory edition, in 20 years it only required 1 engine rebuild (it did not blow, i just though that 20 years was enough for a check xD) this engine is a tank, there is no way u can kill it, if u are not stupid and know how to treat a bike, am looking to buy a 250 or 300 rieju so i got new fancy things like e starter (not a huge fan but when doing hard enduro is supper comfortable to be able to start the bike in akward positions) but my 250ec is the factory edition so it came with strange specs like messico full exhaust system (italian hand made ), olins front and back, and a total of 335 mm behind (for 2002 was a lot), and a more powerfull engine, on the dyno gave 57 bhp, am gonna keep my beloved 250 ec but i wanna see what have changed in 20 years ;) lets see how it goessss

New Reiju looks good dig the setup. Had a trials Gasgas txt wasn't a fan honeslty, it was previously abused through so i try to look past the experience. Currently though im looking forward to the Beta 300rr review been wanting to try one of those for a while. The xtrainer & 200rr (&race edition) are up on the list for sure. Been mostly a Ktm junky for awhile now but they have been awesome bikes just ready for something different.
