Do you use AAC 77gr for training ammo? Or do you shoot blackhills all the time? Cuz that seems like it would get really expensive really quickly unless you got a good hookup and get it free or seriously discounted.

@@armorers_wrench I have a lot of black hills available. AAC isn’t as accurate in my experience so I don’t treat it like a precision round; to me it’s a training round that’s above average. I’m comfortable shooting AAC at 3-4MOA steel but I don’t want to rely on it outside of a high round count training environment. If you buy 500rds of Black Hills you can reasonably use about 400 of that over 3-4 matches and the other 100 for enough zeroing/confirmation/data collection to have what you need and be confident. For most shooters that is a season of precision gas gun. Fill in the rest with really any other 5.56 on 3MOA targets at 200yds or less and you should have a good plan that matches most budgets of gas gun shooters.

I may have missed it, but I’m looking for a shooting mat! What do you recommend?

@@jonathanmiller5701 I don’t think a lot about mats; any of the mid tier stuff from Midway should work out fine.

Good video. Do you use 77gr for everything or only for zeroing? Thanks

@@SouthpawActual a short answer is “it depends.” I zero to the ammo I will use in that rifle. For this example, this rifle will only get 77s and if there exists a day I need grab something else for a range day it will get zeroed to that but I will not zero out the turrets so I can dial it back to 0/0 and be set for 77s again. Zero your rifle to the “game day” ammo or the “training ammo” but be able to return to zero when done training if those aren’t the same loads.
