Once we got camp setup ... Sally & I decided to take the afternoon to explore around. We departed camp with no real solid plan ... but wanted to pick one of the loops that wasn't going to be busy with bikes. So, on this day bikes weren't allowed on the Left/Right Loops - so we decided to follow the right loop with the intention to take the first connector trail for a shorter day hike. As we hiked along - we found a nice little area for Sally to swim and play. Afterwards, we continued along the trail - progressively feeling better. Once, we got to the first connector trail - we were feeling so good we decided to proceed on to the 2nd connector. For the most part ... we didn't see much of the lake the back half of the loop and there was a little more climbing than the first half. The 2nd connector - we missed - we took off on what according to AllTrails & Gaia was the connector trail. But as you'll see in the video - the actual official trail map shows it in a different location - so don't do what we did. And once you take the connector trail to the County Line Road ... it turns into a pleasant road walk to the horse trailer parking area. From there you can choose to take the road down to the main parking area or take the connector trail (which veers left uphill) - which is what we chose to do.
Things to note ... there are several amenities at the trailhead - bathrooms, changing room (around back from where the bathrooms are), bike wash/rinse station, water spigot, and various information boards. The trail itself was very pleasant and relatively easy - but do watch out for poison ivy and apparently keep an eye out for snakes as well! Overall, a really nice trail.
