Very helpful, thanks! 2016 Volvo S60 T5, no options. But.. I screwed up. The first terminal cable was difficult to remove so I used a screwdriver to help pry it up. I know, duh, why did I use a metal object around a battery! Big spark on the attachment with the small Volvo label. Ruh roh! I continued, no other issues. New battery installed. No power to car functions... lights, or instrument displays, and of course no response to key insertion or start button. Hopefully you are still active on this video/subject. Help!! Advice? I love it how the battery weighing in at probably 15 or so kg, is almost thrown down with force on the car with the lid right under it. I also love it how the plastic cover is hit several times with the hand. Another sweet thing is how the upper plastic cover is forced down several times when it clearly wasn't fit properly. Last but not necessarly least, I love it how the plastic bolt is turned probably 360 degrees with a screwdriver when it's supposed to turn 90 degrees. The video was also cut as not to show the procedure to make it fit the right way. How do I know this? Well, I removed both battery covers today to clean the area around it. The upper cover was a bit of a pain in the neck to get back in place once off. It was my first time on this particular car because I bought it 2 weeks ago.

On my 2017 V60 T5 wagon there is a stiff covered cable that runs through the battery box that completely covers and blocks the retainer bracket and bolt. I don't know what that cable is or do I care, only that I cannot get to the retainer. Not enough sideways room there to even try to force it out of the way to get a socket in there. Advance Auto Parts tech agreed and walked away. I understand why. Any comments on that?

I have a 2012 S60 T5 Auto One day I took the cables of the top post of battery, removed the battery sensor, removed ventilation hose. I couldn't reach the bolt that holds battery down, so i put it all back together. Went to go start my car, and no start when pushing the START button. No dash warning lights, but was getting power. Eventually "Low Battery" , then "Low Battery, Power Save Mode" . Figured battery was bad, so i swapped a working battery in, and was then hit with the same "Low Battery" I have checked fuses, tested alternator, cleaned posts and had a few friends see if they could figure it out. Nothing.

Most probably battery calibration went haywire on you because you removed the sensor without replacing the battery first time around. Usually calibration is done with OBD devices at the workshop. Your back up battery located on the opposite side of your main battery is hidden underneath cowl. Just remove all clips and lift up the cowl. It shoild be there. That might be the problem.
