This was a live performance on the Andy Williams show there were no do overs or auto-tone just his God given voice.Thid performance was effortless, smooth and sheer perfection. Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Bros owns this song. Many artists before and after him have done this song but no one will ever compare to his performance. The other Brother was there Bill Medley and he sang later with him.

Im Glad black kids are listening music that they hardly listen... music is music. White people listen a lot of music from great black artists and many are beautiful: The Platters, Nay King Cole, his daughter Etc etc! Great singers so lm so glad these young kids are being introduced to these music! Love you guys! I’m Latina! I love Good music no matter who sings as long as they don’t use bad language! I myself am a romantic and DONT like that rock music they scream and you don’t even understand what they are singing... some use horrible words not good for children. Learn to appreciate good music! Listen old Paul Anka music... there is soo many beautiful old music, classic music! Take care! I’m so happy you had fun!

@@lucybrown1929 I think just the opposite. In this version he puts expressive melisma in the wrong places and, in a few places, emphasises the wrong beat-syllable combination. It's the white guys who don't sense that in R&B, Soul and Gospel the clap comes on 2 an 4, rather than on 1 and 3.

The best-known version of "Unchained Melody" was recorded by the duo The Righteous Brothers for Philles Records in 1965. The lead vocal was performed solo by Bobby Hatfield, who later recorded other versions of the song credited solely to him. According to his singing partner Bill Medley, they had agreed to do one solo piece each per album. Both wanted to sing "Unchained Melody" for their fourth album, but Hatfield won the coin toss. - Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unchained_Melody)

Most, I mean most people thought he was a black man too, it wasn't until he was seen on TV that people actually saw what he actually looked like. They call this style -"Blue-Eyed Soul". It's definitely Soul Music! Many white artists @ the time were influenced by this 'new' music they had heard black-folk singing & performing & couldn't believe it, (Rythmn & Blues, Soul)- this is what 'influenced' their music.
