Listening to the poem "I am" Tears purify me. At the cry ""Allah Allah"" in the Rumi poem, my throat chokes. Any longing is praying, whether for foods,knowledge... 'The longing is the return message.' Allah,God,is not created, not born nor birth gives. Just because we are creatures it mean NOT that God is Created. We create the Horizon, yet Horizon is never ever created although Horizon circumscribe us all. I have enjoyed this horizon.Thanks.

Thank you Libby Smith, I love to hear you speak, that gravity in your voice let's me enter that space you create with your word. This is one big something that I'm here to, to feel us like this. I want to hear so many more people who walk with their longing and find glimpses of the answer on their path. How will these longful answers and the people who bear them come to life into this world? Many of them remain still lonely. Thank you for inviting the inside out. Lets me feel home.

If only I'd grown up in a church community with such an expansive view of the God that enfolds all within us, and through the vehicle of these two great spiritual/metaphysical poets. Yet my soul chose a constrictive path, so that I would learn to recognise what I did not want or embody.

Rumi's philosophy has nothing to do with Islam. Starting out with introducing him as "Islamic Sufism" will take you nowhere close to where Rumi wants to take you to. Secondly, Rumi's "god" is NOT the Abrahamic "god". The poor man has been used by all like a tool in a toolbox to fix their vehicles.

Rumi lived and died a devout Muslim. And he founded a Sufi order, which by definition is a Muslim institution. His poetry speaks a universal idiom, while at the same time being rooted in the specificity of Islam and its mystical iteration which is Sufism.

@@barrymoore4470 . If you try to understand Marxism thru academic economic kaleidoscope, you will never understand Marxism. If you WANT to understand Rumi thru Isam, you will never understand it, unless you have a solid background in the "Iranic spiritual value system". If you heard what was in the quotation marks for the first time, you are out of your league.
