So, I got the game two hours ago (Germany), I've watched all the First Looks and Reviews and stuff ... after the first two levels and with a quarter of Dragaux's health bar down, I was drenched in sweat. I think with mostly slim and at least semi-fit reviewers out there, people casually underestimate how much of a serious workout this is for people like myself, ranging from stocky to obese, who just don't exercise (and hate themselves for it). There's nothing laughable at all about the degree of exercise you'll get out of this game if you're a person who objectively needs to exercise.
@markinstlouis
5 жыл бұрын
I'm right there with you. With my work schedule (12 hour rotating shift work), the gym is a waste of money. With this, I can play for a little bit and shower/go to bed. I'm 51 and seriously out of shape, and this had me tired after just the first level. If you already work out regularly, this may be easy for you, but for people like me that need the motivation to get off of the couch, it's a pretty good work out.
@sint666
5 жыл бұрын
I regularely work out, so I'm one of the semi-fit reviewers, and I put the difficulty up to maximum because I thought it would be okay. I got completely destroyed by the first set of levels hahaha, this game is a blast! This makes me think that you can really improve, because if you feel you are getting the hang of it, no matter how low you start, you can increase the difficulty to keep challenging yourself! Normal exercise needs a lot of discipline to improve and keep coming back to, and in this game it is just a press of a button in difficulty select and you are set for a challenge! This is probably the only game which i physically can't binge, I just have to stop even though I want to see what the next level brings (which gives GREAT motivation to work out the next day too!). You are absolutely right that this game is no laughing matter, it will get people into shape, maybe not like an athlete, but it's the no-workout to some-workout that is the hardest and yields the biggest results!

@@markinstlouis I'm 51 as well. I use to do martial arts 3 nights a week for an hour to hour and a half (black belt in Tang Soo Do). A knee re-injury sidelined me about 2 years ago and I've picked up that mid-section pudge and it is really bothering me. My wife laughs when I say I'm getting fat because that's really like... 5-10 pounds overweight but FOR ME... I hate it. I know I'm nowhere near the shape I used to be in and I've been trying to figure out how to accomplish that. It's great to hear your review. My schedule somewhat precludes a gym membership too. Weight changes are primarily driven by diet more so than exercise, so it's not surprising you didn't see any weight change. If one wants to weigh less, they should track their calorie intake and eat less. Exercise helps, but it takes less effort to not shove a cookie in your month than it does to work it off. Eat less to lose weight, and exercise so your body looks good when the weight comes off.

I mean, I question myself the same thing, but I haven't said anything out loud lol. My theory is that it is made with the same idea as a bow. Since bow need to be stretchable to shoot arrow, it must have a lot of resistence in term of durability. So if ya wanna buy it ya can go ahead and buy it and if ya careful with the ring which i'm sure ya will be you can probably make it last the lifespan of the game til completion if not more. I got this game because I wanted a workout game. I was planning to get the boxing game for Switch. But after I found out this game was released I knew I had to have it. So I bought it from GameStop. I only set up my profile and did some of the testing things. But, I was planning to do the stretches. But didn’t want to wake up my fiancé’s mom. I really like this game and can’t wait to keep using it.

Need something to get me through the winter months until I can get back out on my bike. This looks fun!

It won't replace getting in the gym and getting under a barbell, but for people who can't or won't go to the gym, this seems like a decent alternative.
