Well, yes, but Paul only started consistently touting that four-sides-of-the-square message *after* George's death. Before then, he was obsessed with the McCartney-Lennon songwriting thing and being recognised as the true Beatles avant-gardist (rather than John) - as Ringo said just before the Concert for George in '02, Paul was being "under-handed" in his self-interest. I don't want to take away from the spirit of your message, but Paul McCartney's statements are always, and always have been, very calculated and agenda-based. Ringo, on the other hand, just transcends these issues: it all happened, and he's not really bothered about what anyone else thinks. Which is just one reason he was so vital to the Beatles whole.

George took a black eye in getting Ringo to replace Best. George and Ringo had really strong friendship.

Black eye?
@chrismacdonald7955

@@simonlee7780 Local fans in Liverpool were angry that they replaced Pete Best with Ringo. There was a scuffle outside the club at Ringo's first appearance with them. George got a black eye. If you watch an old film of that, you will notice George turned to the side while playing on stage, but if you look close, you can see his black eye.

@@chrismacdonald7955 Never new that mate. Thanks. The way Pete best was portrayed in Birth of The Beatles, he seemed quiet and dare I say not as lively as Ringo and the other Fab 3 .

If Pete had stayed the Beatles would be unknown. He's the most boring, monotone, non energy guy. Ringo is quiet but lots of energy and charm.

George helped Ringo get his solo career started by writing and playing on his songs. George wrote It don't come easy for Ringo and later recorded it himself. George Harrison was by far the most talented Beatle and one of the most underrated guitar players of our time. Without George there wouldn't have been a Beatles. His riffs in Beatle songs became some of the most classic in music history. The world misses George Harrison...Music misses George Harrison!

I love George Harrison, his music and his belief system. His guitar grew and grew over the Fab years into a thing of great beauty. I must say, however, that Paul McCartney was - and is - not only the most talented Beatle but the most talented popular musician of the last hundred years. It was a cosmic slot machine that gave us four geniuses in a backwater seaport and the coins spill out to this day. We'll not see the likes of them again in our lifetime.

@@tms6279 it all about John first, without him there is no beatles, NO. Absolitely NO BESTLES.. u can say Paul the genius one or George was the kind one, but its all about John if you said about beatles.
