Ringo still talks as if he’s the luckiest man in the world. Which he is, I suppose. And he still refers to The Beatles in the third person, as if he still can’t quite believe he was part of them. A wonderful , humble man.

Each of them always talked about The Beatles in the third person. That's how they stayed normal as individuals was by separating their personal identity from the group. They always said they didn't want to end up like Elvis a prisoner of their own fame. So they kept "The Beatles" as something separate from who they were.

Shame we do not have more people in music that can sit there and laugh, enjoy what he did, and willing to share his experiences with laughter.

It knocks me out that here he is in 2019, making a video for similar regular folks via KZitem ... and so many years before in provincial Liverpool he'd thought about it and decided, "I'm not gonna' be Richie Starkey on drums. @@shaitet Read and/or view videos from great drummers, and you'll find out his drumming is FAR from simple. All drummers were fairly simple in the earliest days and Ringo helped break boundaries for the drummers' place in bands. He's never been like, say, a Carl Palmer. But he can and has displayed complex styles as needed. The fact is he does only what's needed and has never desired to do more and be an "up-front" showman. That said, many many drummers have said his drumming is deceptively "easy", but next to impossible to duplicate half as well. His drumming on the last few Beatles albums was intuitive; complex and perfect for the piece. You want simple drumming, check out the tracks Paul did! Basic as all get out. If you played drums you would know how uninformed your critique of Ringo is.
