I love this album so much. I love the story telling it has and how every song contributes in some way to the plot of this story. The songs themselves are also really good dubstep songs with heavy drops. The bonus track is phenomenal because it’s a resolution and it contrasts the rest of the songs so well. Also, I like how the theme of Take That is like a Victory and how it’s everyone celebrating that The Machine has been defeated. My favorite song however is Blackwater. The wild west theme sounds so good, the buildup to the first drop si absolutely masterful and the drops are straight up mad.

the bonus track take that is an illusion. the real story the resistance is captured by the machine and given the false reality that they beat the machine. the end of overkill shows this because its putting the resistance to sleep “with no nightmares” hence why they think theyre victorius

I kinda wish that overkill was left to be revealed with the launch of the album. It made listening to this album kinda underwhelming because I knew how that ended

To put on it, no one knew what it was saying when the song first came out. When Dogma Resistance released, everyone was like: “Ohhhhh the robot voice is saying ‘Target: Dogma Resistance.‘ So it was kind of random to have that first part of the song when it would be just a single. If Dogma Resistance didn’t come out yet, no one would know what it would be saying to this day.

Tbh, I'm glad the dialogue was short and brief, it made alot of the album up to interpretation. Listening to this lying in bed with eyes closed, and letting the complex musical structure and parallels between the machines sound (Dubstep) and humanity (native instruments) makes this album such a unique listening experience, at least to me. When I heard tracks like jungle fury Blackwater and Aiwa, I imagined the machine approaching and ripping apart each area. In blackwater, it's as if they are fleeing the desert, making it safely out by night fall, (interlude) What you're looking for in this album reminds me of Jeff Wayne's, War Of The world's, from the 1970s I will say however, I do agree on the point you made about the random hype up words breaking immersion. In my opinion though, this is my favourite album of 2019 and I don't think much needs to be changed to make this a 10/10. I can see how riot was inspired by different artists in different songs, but it never feels ripped off and always comes across as paying omage to these other artists. Good review though, I can understand where you're coming from even if I disagree :)

The album is one of my most anticipated releases on Monstercat. Honestly, I was impressed, but I feel that it could've been better and had more new material. However, Take That is a truly amazing track and one of my new favourites.

Personally i find that each individual track leading to the mob are all isolated instances of people fighting the machine. Once we reach the mob and overkill all these different groups come together to try to win the fight. Imo this is why jungle fury, disorder rebirth, blackwater and aiwa seem pretty disconnected.

@@landonfleury Both imo, are more compliation with a storyTelling(I might be wrong on Abandon Ship) and both define the genres that was commonplace then with a twist( EDM trend Machine has an baitswitch approach, while Overkill has buildups for days but similar to EDM Trend Machine In terms of baitswitch) Both are also vocal sample driven.

Kelvin Kuang as far as I know, abandon ship doesn’t tell any kind of story, it basically just summarizes Knife Party’s signature styles and pulls similar comedic elements from their early music. Wouldn’t really compare them

I would honestly give this album a 6, i find this album way too repetetive, given the somewhat familiar sound design used in the drops, and the fact that we've heard most of this album already, meant that the album barely had any suprises. Imagine if Jungle Fury and Overkill hadn't been released until the album dropped, i think the album would've had a bit more of an impact, for me I was listening to it just going "oh i remember this part of the song, it doesn't sound as good as I remember". Although the intro and interludes were really really good, and probably my favorite part of the album

I completely disagree, I think the fact that some songs are released before the album is, is completely fine and didn't take from my listening experience. In fact, listening to it with the knowledge of overkill, I found that once it got to that song I had more chills then when I listened to it the first time.

I mean the LP is okay its not bad. Jungle fury is a classic personally and the different themes that each song had is tasteful but the drops at times were just okay.

this album is the equivalent of going to see an action movie, but seeing basically every action scene beforehand. there is still quite a bit of the movie that you have no idea about, but the main element, the action, is ruined for you. everything else might as well be filler, because nobody watches an action movie for the non-action scenes. ok that was a pretty bad analogy but you get my point lol

Was so good last year. But when the rest of albun dropped i was kinda dissapointed. Just interludes. One intro. A remake of an old song that was ok but not as good as the original. A nu disco song. And one actual fucking song.
