Hi! Love your channel! I use that(Gradations) almost everyday on my CREO/6500. The big question is, I also have a 2070 (and a C6000), both on FIERY. How would you do the same on a Fiery? I have yet to find that feature on Fiery systems. Also, from all of us viewers, a Huge THANK YOU for all of your sharing of your knowledge. I’ve saved THOUSANDS on technician calls doing my own developer, sensors, fuser, etc. I still keep 2 Konica’s on service, and 2 are self served by me, thanks to you!

Thats great news! Yes, the savings will add up!! I have not found a place to change curves on the Fiery. The best I found isthe Image Viewer Curves feature in the color settings. But honestly I have only once wanted to adjust the curves on my C3070 color are pretty dense and consistent on there.

Shoot, I just explored the Color Profiler Suite. I don't know how much it costs but you can play with it in demo mode. There are all kinds of goodies in there. Thanks Steve Weiss!

You can make new tone curve in color centro but you will have to use printer driver to print...

I'd always start with the engine. If the engine won't hit Dmax (maximum density) for a color no amount of curve tweaking will help. Personally, I go in and bump all the color channels Dmax a couple points, black a couple-three and yellow about double that. Then run gradation adjust. You should just see toner at about 2% in the lightest square. Then run your calibration at the Creo. Presentation rendering intent also boosts color saturation and contrast. Lastly, if you're trying to match another machine's output, grab its ICC profile and install it in your Creo as a simulation and within limits of the engine it will try to match the output of the other machine. In the past, I'd have charged $350 for that advice and demonstration. (2hr minimum). This is how I setup my showroom machines, or did until they hired separate "production" print specialists with G7 certs.

I agree, engine first. I'll have to toy with the presentation rendering. Good tip, thank you!

Following and viewing almost ALL your videos, Im struggling with my press c7000. On a print with a full coverage page, there's a few vertical lines that the toner are fainted. Always in the middle of the paper and on each half 1/4. Not drums, apparently not belt. The faint does not move along with the sequential pages, so is a pain in the head for me now. With all your experience, do you have any idea of what could be or where I can take a look to take down this problem? I'm refusing jobs with pages that contain full plain colors because is highly noticeable. =( Thank you!

Might be a developing unit problem or a dirty wire.

Nice video - One Question what is the difference between Color correction with RIP curves instead of doing the same in Photoshop? will the result will be the same?
@justaprinter
4 жыл бұрын
Good question. Results would be the same, but if you adjust it in Photoshop and go to print on another printer your color would be off again. I was adjusting on the RIP because of the current state of my printer. It looked good on screen, I needed to adjust so the printed version would be the same.

@@justaprinter Also, it affects all pictures on a page, avoiding having to adjust many pictures in photoshop.

Fiery has built-in Photoshop-like capabilities with IEVE (Image Enhance Visual Editor) that enable you to adjust photos one-by-one, even to save your adjustment settings and apply them to other photos as needed or across the entire document. If you have GAPPE (Graphics Arts Package, Premium Edition), then you have ImageViewer, an interactive color adjustment tool which lets you make tweaks like you would to a color profile--even soft proof before-and-after effects--but at a job level, leaving the output profile unaffected, which is a good thing.
