I think Unit-13 shares a symbiosis with Gendo much like Unit-01 does with Yui. I see the New Theatrical Edition world as a sort of virtual reality contained within the Yui/Unit-01/Lilith God being floating into space at the conclusion of End of Evangelion. And the New Theatrical Edition shows the continued desire of Gendo (now within the virtual reality of EoE Unit-01/Yui) to fulfill his desire that was denied to him in EoE.

Another idea I play around with is that Lilith represents Rei and the 4 Adams represent the 4 male elders of Shinji's life from Neon Genesis Evangelion as understood by NGE Yui (that is of course if you agree that after the events of EoE that NGE Yui is the god of creation for the New Theatrical Editions). Rei, Gendo, Fuyutski, Kaji, and Kaworu from Neon Genesis Evangelion were all absorbed as LCL into Unit-01 by the end of End of Evangelion. Yui's imagination of NGE Shinji also feels possible for that 5th Adams. This idea would be significant because it would explain the importance of the NTE Key of Nebuchadnezzar (as one of the 4 Adams) as linking the NTE Gendo and the NGE Gendo that is now an Adams in this NTE version of Evangelion. I know it's a pretty hardcore meta concept but it's interesting if you agree Evangelion as a whole is a franchise that is deliberately built on meta storytelling mechanics.
@@BluePlanet55 I resonate with a lot of your thoughts. Yui being god of the new theatrical version because of the conclusion of the End of Evangelion makes so much sense. And seeing this franchise as a whole as an artistic interpretation of an aspect of Anno's consciousness in order for him to tell an epic story of human consciousness while also linking the concepts of consciousness and storytelling on a meta level is what makes Evangelion such an amazing work (artificial human).

I also like to play with the idea that the god of creation for Neon Genesis Evangelion is Anno's Jungian Ego (his Satan) as portrayed with the 12 wing "angel" being cast out/down in the opening seconds of Neon Genesis Evangelion's OP and possibly embodied within Gendo or NGE Shinji. However, at the conclusion of End of Evangelion Anno's Ego is defeated, which is why EoE is filled with Ego Death imagery, and Yui within Unit-01 with all the souls (except NGE Shinii and NGE Asuka and others that decide to return) becomes a new vessel of a possible new reality, the new god of creation for Anno, his Jungian Anima, which in turn explains the second to the Most High status of Yui in the New Theatrical Edition. The 12 wing angel (Satan/Ego) in Neon Genesis Evangelion's OP and the 12 wing Yui (Mary mother of Christ/Anima) in the New Theatrical Editions are paralleled and in conflict/relationship with each other under the grander drama of human consciousness, human storytelling, and a human's will to live within a reality of suffering. They share many of the "creators of realities" qualities but differ in their desires. Anno's Satan/Ego/Gendo of Neon Genesis Evangelion punishes and deconstructs while Anno's Mary/Anima/Yui of New Theatrical Editions nourishes and deconstructs. These two can also be linked to the similar complimentary and differing perspectives within the Bible between Jewish covenant (old testament) versus Christian covenant (new testament).
I think Yui being the god of creation for the New Theatrical Edition world is directly linked with her becoming the steward of the all the souls from Neon Genesis Evangelion (except NGE Shinii and NGE Asuka, which is why she probably shows up in the beach in Shin Eva) while they're contained in NGE Unit -01 at the conclusion of End of Evangelion.
