I think that second opinion is great but a lot of people have bad medical insurance and no money or star power like Rita. So telling people it’s “their responsibility “ is irresponsible on the part was of this doctor. It’s the doctor’s responsibility to do their job correctly.

Lobular can go undetected on imaging

I believe mine was missed on a previous mammogram, I get them every two years, as my last mammogram revealed a very large spiculated lesion, which was determined to be ILS. My research has led me to discover that a fair few doctors lump this together with IDC in how to screen and treat ILC. I am currently being investigated for endometrial pathology, but my gynaecologist tells me that my uterus is not a site ILC breast metastasises to, which is incorrect. Unfortunately, it is becoming increasingly essential for patients to research and advocate for themselves.

And is oftenmisdiagnosed! I had lobular breast caner for at least 8 years. I knew it, they didn't! It does not show well up on imaging. MRI might pick it up, but if you know something feels wrong, chase it down!! My diagnosis was delayed for 8 years. Now I am dying of my disease

ALWAYS get a second opinion. How dare you tell us that we shouldn't get a second opinion. Boo to you as a Dr. especially for womens health.
