This was a quick (14 hours) Family Microadventure from Chepstow up the River Wye (in two Canoes and a Kayak) on the last hour of the incoming tide. we pulled up at a wild camp I know of and camped the night before getting on as the next incoming tide slowed and turned to take us back to Chepstow, 12 hours later. Just before we launched we saw a porpoise heading up river only briefly catching it on film. We also saw several deer coming down to graze on the banks of the river in the last of the evening sunlight. Once the Tom Jones concert in the distance had ended we were left to the solitude of the river bank and the dying embers of our campfire. Timing this trip is important as you can only access the camp/river at high tide and if it is too high a tide it will flood the camp completely (as I once found out!)
