What started as a 6-minute intermission during the Eurovision Song Contest 1994 in Dublin, Ireland, has developed into a huge show that even today, almost 30 years later, still radiates a powerful and impressive fascination. I myself saw the show during a European tour in Vienna, Austria, and when I look at the pictures here, I am overcome by wistful memories of a wonderful time.

I’m 71 years old. Irish. Live in Norway. I take part in a theater group. They insist that I dance on stage. I don’t think I’m a gifted Irish dancer but the Norwegians love Irish dancing and they think I’m fantastic. I always hope there are no Irish in the audience. River dance brought Irish culture to many places, including Norway.

Oh please. Michael "let's hold the whole show to ransom so I get more dosh" Flatley was a choreographer and dancer. He did a good jod BUT he wasn't Riverdance, just one piece of the production. He thought they couldn't do without him, and discovered that not only could they, but they did, and well too. Riverdance has gone from strength to strength, no Michael Flatley required.

If they get to the 30th Anniversary mark, they should attempt to perform on a large stage with a large amount of dancers, similar to their very first time back in 1995. That way they can give this world a reminder that they revolutionized Irish dancing with Riverdance.

I personally agree. I was one year old when that VHS came out. There are home videos of me “River dancing” across the carpet as a small toddler. The Flameco, Reel around the Sun, the Russian Derby, so many were my favorites. My grandma and grandfather both loved River dance which is how I was exposed to it. At 17, I was able to see a tour in Dallas, TX. It meant the world to me. When I was 24, my grandma, who was my very best friend passed. I had long forgotten about riverdance until a KZitem video years old popped up of a recording of that VHS special. I watched it every night to help me cope. Soon, life went on. Last fall, my grandfather passed unexpectedly. I felt so lost, so I searched riverdance on KZitem. What popped up was the funeral scene from the Netflix animated film. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I knew it was him trying to tell me life would go on and everything would be okay. The animated movie is about a boy who also lost his grandfather. It couldn’t have hit closer to home. Even at (almost) 29, I put on my headphones and hop around my house when my grief hits. I’ll forever love riverdance, and I plan to share the love of it with my future children someday.

It had been on an evening 25 years ago, , my hushband slept on the Sofa, I zapped on German TV and suddenly I stopped. What's that??? I felt, I had to follow that, what was just beginning. And at once I start my videoReciver. And I fall in love in the first Riverdance with Michael Flatley and Jean Butler. And after that evening I love it till today. The next dancer. After Michael Flatley hat been Colin Dune. Dancing his own kind of dancingsteps. All the other following dancer tried to copy Michael Flatley. But i have no more seen a better than Jean Butler. Sorry to say this.😏 I'll never forget my Feelings seeing Riverdance the first time. Thanks So much❣👍👍👍🥂🍾

25 years ago, it took 20+ musicians along with 2 percussionists to provide the musical score for the performance, it only takes 7 very talented musicians and 1 highly talented percussionist to do the very same today. Hands together for each and every one of them. All are the very best in the industry. I almost forgot the 4 corps drummers who are great performers in their own rights.
