You can be a 1's main, and be mechanically skilled out of your a$$ - still won't mean you play ROCKET LEAGUE well, in the other games modes.. I'm C2~ give or take every season, im not the most mechanically skilled player, i never play 1's AT all. But, i know my rotations well, know when Not to double/triple commit, i look at the game and my teammates, and what they are doing and play Way more patiently because of it. Could i score more goals being able to breezy flick/flip reset on command? Probably.. Would that increase my WINRATE in threes? Probably not.

1s is not about mechanics until the very high levels. It can be if you want it to be, but 1s is mostly about making good challenges and being able to shoot on target. And that's the difference between pretty much every rank until around GC2.

Flakes showed in his SSL without mechanics 1v1 series that reaching the top levels in 1v1 isn't about making challenges. Flakes suggests avoiding risky challenges and not making lots of unnecessary challenges. Flakes suggests keeping in position to cover your net over challenges.

A point starting with "always" is probably a myth. More specifics are needed when explaining mechanics. To get to GC, you don't need to know how to dribble, but you do need to know where to be, how to pass and how to shoot pretty well. Those involve a lot of mechanical movement and practice.

I understand there is one mid air directional change that this benefits but its not made clear at all. the clip is actually worse than useless, its confusing new players without the context. And it sums up my main criticism of Luke, it's information that needs to be ore than 60s long, but he's made a short of it regardless, spreading misinfo through lack of context just to meet his short video quota, or maybe it's deliberate so confused newbies will sign up for the course in order to get clarification.
