@CampCook12345 This is one of my youtube favorites. Every few months I come back to it. Rick is very clever, and it is also obvious that he loves the little bears. I love just about all furry mammals ..... but I also have nothing against hunters. We have an enormous overpopulation of deer in the eastern USA, for example.

@YokoPolaris Thank you for that. Such a nice counterpoint to those here who assume that trained scientists and specialists in bear behavior know less than they do. It's particularly amusing when a gun-toter insists he never sets food in the woods without a firearm capable of killing a bear. That's someone who either doesn't spend much time in the woods or doesn't spend time there except to kill the wildlife. Go science!

Thumbs up number 41, Yoko. Rick was very clever, talking/joking about the shovel, the jab stick, a "double dose," and hitting the ranger over the head and running if the mother bear did try to come out and attack. But I bet she was pretty groggy (though clearly awake), even before the jab stick pinched her. I have heard that their metabolism slows WAY down while they are hibernating. Besides, she was vastly outnumbered, too.

@GungHo1032 "I wonder how many thousands of dollars are spent every year, just so we can know exactly how many bears there are, and how much they weigh?" I'm pretty sure it's just done to give the people who really run the world a good laugh. "Yeah, uh", giggle giggle, cough, "we're going to need you to count and weigh all the wild bears in the hemisphere." "That will be your job....thanks for stopping in..." door closes .... hysterical laughter breaks out .....
