After what has to be one of the longest life cycles for a compact crossover, six model years, the second generation of the Nissan Rogue has finally arrived for 2014.
I just bought one and it's pretty awesome. It's very quiet, comfortable, spacious, has just enough power, and looks very good in and out. The people whining that this car doesn't have a V6 or manual, blah, blah, must remember; this car is for urban/suburban dwellers who just need a smaller, fuel efficient SUV to lug kids and stuff around. It has 5 star safety rating and does all you need it to while looking very good. It wasn't built to blast sand dunes or climb mountains. If you truly need that capability, not just to be macho, there are plenty of vehicles designed for that.

I test drove The new Rogue, Murano and Pathfinder. By far; the Rogue was the best bang for buck.

I had bought one this pass October tell u what it's the best looking SUV being my first crossover ever owned. Got the SL Premium package fully loaded with everything. I am in my mid 20s but drive it around town and drive it to another town. Interior fit and finish is remarkably excellent even Zero gravity seats are very comfortable. Being the Rogue is standard with CVT no problems takes off smooth only thing wish offer a V6 but otherwise it's a great SUV for the money. Doing that time looking at something be affordable but have top of the line SL PREMIUM Package it's all best with lots of upgrades. Overall after 6 mos ownership of purchasing my Rogue at 1,700 miles without a single problem. Ride is smooth as 170hp 4 cylinder motor has so powerful for this subcompact crossover technology is great. So far the Rogue offers a excellent value including safety features I have the Aroundview camera and blind spot warning as lane departure warning etc. It has great handling even interior is pleasant while I drive my Rogue around town (etc) plenty of room as rear seats slide n recline it's so much being this is an affordable small CUV std with lots of options n features. Rogue gets excellent fuel economy on doing mostly highway driving everything is best on my Rogue looks more like a luxurious car instead of a CUV even panoramic moon roof is a neat feature along other things equipped with the SL Premium pkg.

Compared to the first gen rouge the second gen looks much more nicer i saw one today. I'm glad nissian gave the rouge a full update but 6 years to late. I don't understand the point of the 3rd row in a compact crossover if anything put a 3rd row in the murano. As far as the transmission goes i would nissian offer a manual at lease in the base trim or mid level trim

Nissan needs a 3 liter engine in this as an option. the 2.5 does not provide enough power for 3,625 lbs suv

This looks kinda too big for a 4 cylinder, they should add a V6 as an option.

They should have added a turbo option.

As long as the comparisons are limited to the previous generation, it looks better. But if Nissan hopes to improve their sales they have to capture buyers other than those who want an upgrade for their current Rogues. And there's no indication that this is anything more than a mid-pack (at best) small crossover.

Almost perfect except for only one engine option that's underpowered and kills the potential. Needs another more powerful porwertrain whether be v6 or turbo 4.

Why do all Motorweek "reviews" sound like PR pieces written by the manufacturer?

Ive watched this show for years, used to watch it with my dad (bless his soul) They do, a few types of videos. Quick Spins, Reviews and First Looks. Basically Motorweek is great no nonsense show, they just give you what you came here for.
