HondaPro Jason I still enjoy my 1st gen 2008 Sport manual. Wife and kids are embarrassed of me but my 40 year old ass loves it. I initially thought I didn’t like this model as it’s getting too fancy for its own good. But there is nothing as practical, reliable and fun.

I have the first gen fit sport, but the front seats aren't comfortable for long trips with thigh and lower back support like you said in your 07 fit test. After sitting in my church friend's 15 fit front seats, they're even comfier then the 09 version. Rear leg room is among best in the subcompact class with only the Versa Note coming close behind. And despite cargo space reducing about 20%, 52.7 cubic feet is hard to beat for something that's not a crossover. So Fiesta, Rio, Accent, and Yaris Hatchbacks, you guys have some work to do to beat this fun and flexible subcompact

Buyer beware! I have had no mechanical problems with my Fit, but the paint and clear coat on the roof of my 2009 Fit is starting to fade into bald spots. Honda has had similar paint problems with the Civic, Odyssey, CRV, and Pilot which have all been recalled. I'm hoping that they will recall the Fit too. Part of the appeal of a Fit is the low cost of ownership, but now I'm looking at a $1000-2000 paint job if Honda does not issue a recall.

Had a drive of the new Fit manual and it was quiet fun, but to be frank the new Ford Fiesta with manual tranny had quieter ride,better handling,better body control,better steering,and better ride quality over broken road, Sure the Fit wins hands down when it comes to practicality , space but i was pleasently surprised by the Fords small Fiesta, whatever auto reviews may say, the Fiesta is a far better drivers car than the Fit, the Fiesta 1.0 ecoboost i3 wasnt the 1 i drove, the 1.6 had enough power but its gearing was too long to my liking, even still I cant accept the fact that Fit is more fun than a Fiesta, if you want small drivers car, FIESTA all the way, Fit is just good as good as its engine,space,practicality, nothing else is better than Fiesta,
@1989rs500

***** if it was 2009 or before I wouldnt have compared a Ford with a Honda,but all has changed when Ford's European roots set foot in America, if you haven't driven a fiesta please please give it a try,I am damn sure it's far better than what one would imagine, I like Ford cars but I didn't expect this level of agility,ride quality, quietness inside a Ford,it was absolutely fantastic car to drive, There were 2 negative to fiesta it was cramped inside compared to fit,and the engine wasn't as eager as the fits But the fiesta even in basic form was like a FWD hot hatch with engine tuned for economy and yet ironed road imperfection like no other compact car can,fit had firmer suspension that can hurt on bad roads, fiestas dampers were much much better,steering feedback of fiesta is light years better than Honda's, the body was supremely in control in the fiesta,another big point is cabin quietness, fit felt like a tin can compared to rock solid quiet interior of fiesta
@thomasbklyn
10 жыл бұрын
jandj Godwin same here tested both the fit and the fiesta and the built quality is way better on the fit .all you have to do is close the for of a fiesta and a fit and you will hear a tight thump on the fiesta . Take a look at Consumer Reports, where they list the Fiesta as one of the least-reliable and lowest-scoring compacts ever.
@1989rs500
9 жыл бұрын
I saw that, but I kind of dont bother, I found the fiesta to be amazing, sure I wud ve loved it to be a reliable choice ,but the competition is no way near as good as Fiesta, like everything that has space,big buttons and knobs,need not b better, I was blown away by the power that Fiesta had and many people say Fit is fun to drive,its not at all fun to drive compared to Fiesta,maybe before Fiesta arrived Fit was benchmark,but from my observation if Fit gets 75 marks for Handling Fiesta gets 90, and ST boy that gets 98, Also the economy,super quiet interior,taut but superb and extremely good body composure all mattrr to me,Fit or no other sub compact is even close to Fiesta in these atributes,the only fly in the oinment is projected reliability issues by consumer reports,but I will neglect it. Cuz rest of the package is unbelievably good.

Why? I'm pretty sure the Fit is basically a Civic hatch, just like the Honda CR-Z is the coupe version of the Honda Insight. And speaking of the Mazda 2, the new 'Hazumi' would probably be the only car right now that would pull me away from this new Fit.

roger lopez *Assembled* in Michigan, sure. However, only 45% of the parts in the 2014 Focus are made in America. See the "American Automobile Labeling Act" on NHTSA.gov. Your Focus also has a Mazda engine, however, the Ti-VCT 2.0 liter built in Chihuahua, Mexico. Whether it has the auto tranny OR the B6 manual, they are Getrag units (which are German.) Both the Camry and Accord are not only assembled in the USA, but 80% of all their parts were also made in the USA. The *ONE and ONLY* Toyota made in Mexico is the Tacoma pickup truck. The *ONLY* Hondas made in Mexico are the CR-V and the 2015 Fit. Out of ALL GM vehicles combined, only an average of 47% of their individual parts are made in the USA.
