Tom Hanks as Michael Sullivan has make a great great film, Road To Perdition.Wonderful actor and general favourite Tom Hanks, whose game you enjoy. He plays his roles great and flawlessly, many film with his participation tighten and hold tight without letting go. And his virtuosic face game is something amazing, looks, facial moves, reaction, smiles, thoughtfulness. All of his indicates that he is an excellent master of his bussiness. He is an actor of more than one role, because of which, his works are multifaceted, interesting and not disposable. His films especially old ones are reviewed with great warmth in the soul. This is an all time actor who has fallen in love with millions of people a long time ago. Sincerely, Michael Sullivan #TomHanks

All of his works are genius. Thomas Newman…simply a beautiful soundtrack. I time traveled with it. I swear I thought I was in Chicago by the time I finished listening to it. I could feel the bite of the wind in the city on Michigan Avenue. I effortlessly could inhale the nostalgia and it was inebriating. One thing is for certain wherever I haven’t been, I will be going when I leave this earth. I believe the afterlife is simply the chance to be anywhere in the world you so desire. I want to see all of it!! I want to sip tea in Paris while listening to Sidney Bechet dressed in the finest couture, I want to sip champagne in West Egg at a decadent soiree’ and not be the servant, I want to travel like a vessel and I will in the afterlife…cheers.

This piece deeply reminds me of an old song by Harold Budd, released on an album he did with Cocteau Twins. The song is called "Memory Gongs". It is a piano piece that captures the same emotions. That feeling of being frozen and unable to do anything to stop a course of terrible events, which I think Road to Perdition is about. Throughout the film, characters share knowing looks as if to say how they know some greater goodness exists within them but they cannot change course. They are locked into a terrible destiny and they know it, yet are unable to change it. Powerful stuff.

When I see movies based on this time period in America I always think of my grandfather. It fascinates me for some reason, and for that I am grateful. Perhaps it's because I actually knew my grandfather, whereas, sometimes I think most younger people don't care about this time period in America. They prefer to be looking at their phones and updating their Facebook status. Not to say they don't care about their grandparents or great grandparents, it's just they seem detached from the history they lived in. Just my take. I guess that's the benefit, for me, at least of growing up in a non- cell phone (tech) world.
