Great video. I may be taking a job in New Orleans and have been looking at Slidell as a place to live. Nice to see what a commute may look like.

I have to make the journey from Northern Virginia to Slidell, LA soon. I remember passing the LA border. One of the best feelings on Earth is being back in LA. #GeauxTigers

I very much enjoyed this video, as it gave me visual topography of the driving in my new state. When you are coming from Slidell and mention Lake Pontchartrain, you don't mean the causeway in this video but instead the western entrance into Louisiana, right? You were on the Lake for about six miles, I gather?

Michael Martin this video is from Slidell to New Orleans. Slidell is just a few miles from the eastern border of Louisiana/Mississippi. The bridges over the lake in this video are the I-10 Twin Spans, and are 5 miles long. These are the easternmost crossings of lake Pontchartrain. The Causeway connects Mandeville with Metairie and is 25 miles long (the longest continuous bridge over water in the world). We have a separate video of the Causeway too. I-55 crosses the very western edge of Lake Pontchartrain, while US-90 crosses Chef Menteur Pass and the Rigolets near the very eastern edge of the lake.

On the drive from Biloxi to New Orlease, there are two turn offs from I 10 that are closed off. They have been as long as I can remember and don’t seem to go anywhere. Rumor is that is where several bodies have been dumped and left for the wildlife to erase. Does anyone know anything about them?

Adam Baskind they’re mentioned in more than one of our videos out there. They were part of the original planned New Orleans East development in the 70s. When they figured out there was no solid ground, they didn’t continue to develop beyond Michoud Blvd. At one point in the mid-2000s, they actually opened one and had a nature trail and parking area, but they did away with that pretty quickly. I took that exit once in 2006 to turn around when traffic was at a standstill heading to the twin spans. Now, the exit ramps have been completely removed and there’s no access to them at all by car. The one place that I know of that they’ve found multiple bodies is the Michoud exit, which is active. It also used to be a dumping place for stolen cars, usually set on fire.

Nyvin Jackson we aren’t really parade goers. I only went to Adonis because there was nothing else to do that day. Mardi Gras is a perfect 4-day weekend to get out of town and get road video. Unfortunately, this year, it looks like we’re going to get rained out in all directions.

When you get to the 610I10 inner state split the idiots in New Orleans who don't know how to drive Robert mak traffic will be backed up for a mile because they do not know how to merge If there is a wreck on side the road they will slow up and look which add to the problem once you get past the split traffic flows freely people in New Orleans should not be allowed to drive
