This time, we take a road trip to San Francisco to see two extremely rare Lamborghinis. To get there, we’re driving in a Shelby Mustang to enhance the experience. The two cars we are destined to see is the Lamborghini Diablo 6 litres and the Lamborghini Turbo. The first one was produced in 2001 and the latter in the 80s.
The Lamborghini Diablo is a high-performance mid-engined sports car that was built by Italian automotive manufacturer Lamborghini from 1990-2001. The car is able to attain a top speed in excess of 200 mph (320 kph). Initially designed by Marcello Gandini, the final design came from Tom Gale at the Chrysler Styling Center. It is believed that the main competitor to the Diablo is the Ferrari 550 Maranello, but the Diablo surpasses it in many ways: it’s lighter, faster, and gets better gas mileage.
1980 Lamborghini Countach LP400 S Turbo is a series of two prototypes privately developed by engineer Franz Albert. Lamborghini Countach is a rear mid-engined, V12 sports car also produced by Lamborghini from 1974-1990. The Countach stood as the ultimate symbol of success, excess, and it embodies everything insane about the 1980s. After almost eight months of negotiating, we somehow eventually struck a deal with the owner and ended up purchasing Chassis 1121160. We now have the responsibility of igniting conversations, discovering documents, and correctly telling the incredible story of the LP400 S Countach Turbo!
