Road trip to Lucknow | Uttar Pradesh | India | Sixty and Travelling
Lucknow is the capital of Uttar Pradesh, the Indian State we are covering right now. It has many destinations of great tourist interest.
We started out early in the morning. After entering Yamuna Expressway, the journey suddenly became much more enjoyable with the majestic 8 lane Expressway (which is one of the best not only in India but even internationally),
lush greenery on both sides and rather thin traffic! The only points on the expressway where we had to slow down (and not stop necessarily) were the Toll Plaza points for payment of toll tax. We had loaded electronic money on our car's Fast Tag and that meant we did not have to stop for toll payment. This Fast Tag mechanism is very useful. It saves time, and the hassle of payment in cash. It's even cheaper. Perhaps because there is no human intervention here, toll tax recovered is actually about half of what you would have to pay if payment is in cash!
On our way there were
6 toll plaza in all. So this Fast Tag mechanism certainly helped to save both, time and money. Since Yamuna Expressway and beyond Agra, Lucknow Expressway, are both world class expressways, driving was an absolute pleasure here. Even with multiple stoppages, we reached Lucknow in about 7 hours, a distance of about 500 km. The road is very good, but there is a speed limit of 100 km per hour. Hence slightly longer time.
Please stand by for our Lucknow vlogs now. Till then, BYE!
