Mr. Naish, you should get a motorcycle license! Cornering with a bike is almost as good as tube riding or kite loops! You are so lucky to ride with your Dad... Rick is a really good rider! Great video! Congrats for both, from South Brazil!!

Great to see Rick staying active and healthy. I was lucky to know him from working at the Hamakua shop in high school in the late 80’s. He left a great impression on me. I always felt lucky for that experience. Great shots of the California landscape here too! Thank you Robby!

Hey Robby it is great to see you with Rick and spending unreplacable time with him. These chances will become more and more difficult....I lived two doors down from your mom and dad and I love them both...... My dad passed at 56 so you have had more time.... Don't discount this time it will sorely be missed when he passes...... I hate to say this but Randy looks more like Rick than you...lol....By the way you are my hero and always have been. Since the day I met you windsurfing in Rhode Island....many moons ago.... In any case I watched from beginning to end and I miss Rick alot...you are a great son.....enjoy your time on this earth with your dad.....

If you never forget where you come from is the best Robby .. I really appreciate this video blasting with your Dad ... mine was 67 as he started with windsurfing in 1983 and passed away with 90 fit till the last moment. The heart just stopped. He lived the whole 20th century with 2 World Wars and 56 Uprising in Hungary. Now I am 53 and started working as a windsurf instructor 2 years ago in Jeri ... Brasil. The best we can get from our parents is the energy to live life and it is great that you accompany him on his road ... great blasting ... cheers Zoltan

Thank you for that post reminds me of the summers with my father when I was 8 to 15 years old and we drove our 1962 VW samba up and down the coast from Seattle to San Francisco, hanging out in places like eureka fort Bragg and Mendocino. We'd sleep in the van and eat beans out of a can and blackberries off the bushes. Unfortunately I lost my father 18 years ago when he was 79, so cool you get to still do adventures with your folks.

The late 70s and 80’s. Building your own board. And shaping your own stormy- weather daggerboard. Ha ha!! Greatings. Great to see having Fun with your dad. My Dad passt away 2000 with 65 years. I miss him. He teaches me sailing, he build with me a a-cat, he made sails for me , teaches me skiing, shooting with a rifle and so on. I was still lucky to had a father like my one was. So spend as much time as you can with your father. I wish you had time as i invited you to join my marriage at Juttas house in 2004. any way. I was born 1962 and started windsurfing 1974. you was always my inspiration. Hope to see you one time in Maui. Greetings Robert

That's so precious Robby. I remember meeting Rick at Pistol River a few years back. He was on his motorbike. A great memory for the whole family to enjoy. I thoroughly enjoyed watching as it reminded me of my Papa who passed away last year at 93. He was a jokester too and performed his last joke on us by pulling a "birthday effect" . Passing on his bday that is. Sail on!

how great to do that at your age with your father. a lot of people would have liked to do this!
Great stuff Robby, fantastic that you can still do things with ya dad. Mine died in the early 90's, and even though I've done a couple of road trips with my kids going surfing 4 a few days, I miss that connection as we're all scattered between Aus & NZ. Make every moment count bro, as you do not know when they've gone, the moments you've missed. Legend!!

299 is great but you missed the best moto route, should have turned off 1 at Fortuna onto route 36 to Red Bluff, completely unpopulated and the back of beyond, not even a single stop sign the whole way! But I'm betting Rick has already done that one. You guys went right past Sherman Island in the delta, the Bay Area's premier summer high wind venue for windsurfing and kiting.

Don't you got any Piaggio MP3 in the US? Here it is a three wheel motor scooter, and a car license is enough. Although, getting lessons just one day (learning to brake hard is crucial, seriously) is a wise investment in your own safety. Riding an MP3 is just like riding a motorbike. Let's not discuss leaning angle and weight and what happens at pro speeds. For touring, it is very okay. Why did you choose that half a car thing? It does not even lean into corners, what a waste of those 175 hp. But, who am I to judge? I wasn't there. I never drove a Slingshot, let alone there. Okay. Ah, get yourself a motorbike license. Your motorical skills are more than okay, I bet you'll be a good biker. But again, who am I, telling Robby Naish what to do? Sorry, sir. Still, remember, bikes are fun! Thanks for this video. Awsome.
