"This is NOT going to be a breakdown song" famous last words there. When it released I straight up sat my ass at my computer at 3 AM and just vibed. The overall melodic progression and notes used in this song gives me a lot of old school nordic melodic death metal vibes for some reason, felt strangely nostalgic while still having that chunky deathcore to it. Absolutely blew me away.

4:23 YESSSS!! THANK YOU! FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT! The Leads and the Synths make Lornas songs completely distinct and different to one another and its what makes each of them memorable. My favorite song from Immortal is Obsession and it is solely because of synth melody in the chorus. Sun//eater has a distinct and defined synth line that matches with the leads, as well as Into The Earth and this one. Sure they all sound relatively similar in a technical and compositional aspect, but its those melodies that completely give the songs their character and identity. Thats what makes Lorna Shores sound unique and special in my opinion :D P.S: That solo made me tear up first time i heard it, favorite part of the track :)

I've always found the "they just make the same song" argument to be very strange, especially for LS. I typically think the people that say that don't actually listen to the music. Yes, structurally, they're similar, but if you sit and pay attention, they're extremely unique to each other. Into the Earth was very dark and brutal the entire song, much closer to black metal, Sun Eater and Cursed to Die have these soaring, triumphant melodies that could be transposed into a movie soundtrack. LS isn't a band you just put on in the background. The music demands you to listen to it, and if you don't, you're just missing the beauty in every single track

beautifull controlled chaos is the perfect description of the music i like and man do they fullfill this pleasure of mine. the combination of brutallity and melody, of all the instruments and the voice, just fucking ridiculously perfect. and the thing with "underground" bands getting big. i see different motives in fans acting negative to such a transition. - some just fear loosing the sound they liked cause often the sound of a band changes, no matter if it is intentionally to attract more people or because the band members are just developing like everybody does. -some do just want to be outsiders which listen and dedicate their life to this small band/bands and getting them liked by many people destroys that desire -often it is more likely to interact with band members if it's a smaller band. you can easiely meet them after the show, drink a beer and talk, but if a thousand other people want to do the same this gets hard even if you know them personally to some degree and in understand people do not want to loose that (i myself love hanging out with bands, and i experienced them just having less and less time after a show, some contacts fade away, some stayed friendships) -oh and some just want to not suffer and fail in life alone....
