I know you didn't record about your grandfather's passing for attention, but I express sympathy to any human going through it. I'm sorry to hear you've lost someone close to you - old afe or not, Tank. ❤ Much love to you and your family.

Yeah, felt a little odd to add "i'm not looking for sympathy or anything.." to that as it's obviously sad news, regardless of if others have experienced the same or not. I would never think anyone mentioning "oh I just lost a close family member recently" was saying so for any sort of attention seek, more like "I'm a little sad now and this is why" so people can understand why they might not be whatever their usual mood is :)

Don't apologize for ending the vlog on the content you did. You are showing what life is like on the road, good, bad, and ugly. Not showing the major points of this tour would feel akin to false advertisement. Life will be life, and we're here watching it and living it vicariously through you, the good, bad, and ugly.

I’m so sorry for your loss Tank, sending you all the love and well wishes in the tough time ahead❤️. For the past year, my Grandma (who I live with, she’s only in her mid 60’s) has been absolutely struggling with issue after issue. She had triple bypass surgery on her heart, then contracted colitis while in hospital and nearly died, now a year on she’s dealing with a growth/lesion on her pituitary gland that’s causing all kinds of problems, and almost nothing is being done about it by the major doctors, I’ve never been more terrified of losing her in my entire life. Through that whole time your content and Electric Callboy (among many other fantastic bands) have helped me face what is the most heavy feelings of anxiety and sadness I’ve felt in a long time. I wish I could also be lucky enough to meet and hang out with you like other Discord members but being an Aussie that’s highly unlikely, which makes me really sad. Even so, thank you so very much for all the amazing content and for being genuinely one of the most entertaining and sweet people I’ve ever seen. Much love as always from Australia mate, you fuckin’ rock!! (And once again sending you love after your loss ❤❤).

Honestly if you moved to Germany, I don't think any of us would be too upset. It's hard to find a band that treats you like family. Even though you are working for them, they don't act like it. They act like you are all equals. I've worked with a lot of bands that don't really appreciate the crew or want to get to know the crew at all. I know they would be honored to have you with them full time and we would all be proud of you if you did it. I'm sorry for your loss man. Keep up these amazing videos and if you are able to do you think you could get the guys to give you a gear tour?

Tank, I lived in Germany for 6 years (us army) and these vlogs have brought so many memories back. I laughed at you being teased about your love for kinder schokolade, I recently found kinder chocolate minis at Walmart and have been eating them 5 at a time 😉 very yummy chocolate! When we first arrived in Germany in 1988 our sponsors told us if you wait for a sunny day you’ll never do anything. So we dressed for the weather, got our umbrellas and visited as much as we could. In winter 1988-89 I didn’t see the sun for months. Quite depressing as a Florida girl but spring was glorious. I loved living in Germany as did my family, (200-03) we see pictures of Heidelberg and go “home”. If I could go back to live I certainly would. The other experience we share that’s not so great is unexpectedly losing my father in law when we we had only been there 3 and a half months. I’m sorry to hear of your grandfather and I send you biggest hugs. I’ve been watching your channel since your first day and I always enjoy listening to you, you are a bright spot in the day and watching your behind the scenes road crew videos have been super cool to watch. Just know you are very appreciated and very well loved by your community. Have a wonderful day!

Now I need to add a comment as well. First of all I offer my condolences for your loss! But that's not the reason I'm writing. A person I follow on several social medias who is a tech community manager for Microsoft once got a comment stating "Hey Scott, please focus on technical content, because that's why I am following you!". His reply to that neatly summarizes why I follow people: "If you follow someone online, you follow the whole person not just one aspect of their personality". With that said: I came to watch a video how a day of a tour manager looks like and what goes on behind the scenes of a big show. I stayed, because I really like you and how you approach these vlogs. It's not just a window in the life of a big tour, but a window into the life of a person. Thank you for sharing all of this - I appreciate it a lot!

About the pots/pans: There are differences. There are steel pans and coated pans. If you use a steel spatula on a coated pan you will scrape off the coating. Usually pots aren't coated and you can just use any spatula (at least that's what I'm doing :D) About induction stoves and the buzzing sound: It's probably just a lower quality induction stove. Mine doesn't buzz like that but has a fan and this is a little bit noticable. And they are actually crazy fast. Was kinda surprised to see that it took you that long to make eggs :D

Sorry for your loss. I've been in Germany for almost 9 years now and have lost both my grandmother and my dad in that time. It's not easy, no matter where you're living at the time. 💜 Apropos living in Germany, if you guys ever do seriously consider moving here and have any questions about the process, I'd be happy to help. I moved here under slightly different circumstances, but bureaucracy is bureaucracy. 😆

My deepest condolences Tank. It's never easy.. But on a different note, it seems you slowly making the decision to move. If you have a driving licence, besides getting recognised here in Germany, I would wholeheartedly advise you,to go and get a few lessons in a driving school, concerning driving in the Autobahn. If you're not used to driving at really high velocities, taking lessons about it, is going to make your life a lot easier.

Yes, everyone dies. That doesn't make it hurt any less. Even if you know it's coming. I knew my dad was dieing, and I was naive enough to believe I was ready for it. It still sucked bad. Telling people isn't about getting sympathy, it's about a shared human experience. A painful one, a very painful one. It helps knowing that people understand, and you are not standing alone.

Watching these vlogs brings me a vicarious joy. My life is incredibly mundane, and I don't have the skill or will to do the kind of things you're doing to but to have seen the awesome journey you've been on for the last 3 years or so is incredible. I'm sorry for your loss. Grief is very personal and we all deal with it how we do. It's ok to not be ok. Thanks for all the content and giving us an insight into what road life is like. You're a legend. Ps: induction hobs are the absolute best. When we moved house the first thing I did was buy one because I missed my old one and couldn't go back to electric/gas. They work by passing a current through copper, hence the buzzing. They're ace.

These have been absolutely amazing and my husband is now definitely a big Electric Callboy music fan. Best to you, and all the hard working techs, for the absolutely fantastic shows and of course the group for the incredible music and performances. Thank you all so much for all you do! Thank you very much for being open and amazing Tank. I'm really sorry for you and your family's loss. And on the topic of bands missing things and canceling shows and such, I remember when EC came to visit Norway (where I live) Kevin couldn't make the show due to their second child being born.... Yeah that sucked for me as a fan, we had a show, and Nico and the rest of the band killed it for sure, but it sucked not having Kevin there.... But I would never ever want him to miss something like that just to give us a show. They managed to go on with out Kevin, but if they couldn't have done that I would much rather I miss a show, or they reschedule, than him missing that important moment. So to you Tank, everyone in Electric Callboy and their crew, and all the roadies and artists that have sacrificed so much for us fans. Thank you, thank you so very much.

Its tough to miss things. I hope your grandmother is well, and that they realise you are with them in thoughts. I adore the way you are able to show your emotions in this medium, and I am sure it helps you with it as well - if it doesn't, you really dont have to share such private moments :) Also, as a german I can highly promote the act of taking a walk in the rain. Make sure you prepare warm, soft clothes for your return and wear appropriate rain gear (jacket, boots, hat) but the smell of nature during and after rain is the most beautiful thing I can think of that is so easy to experience.

Long ago I promised myself I'd let myself cry and be sad over losses like this, because that's a big part of the healing process that a lot of guys don't let themselves have because it seems "weak". Everyone handles these things differently, don't ever apologize for expressing it however you feel comfortable to do. We're all only human. Just a little heads up in case you weren't aware: Both your pocket knife and the Leatherman are illegal to carry publicly in Germany. Outside of your place of residence or workplace, these need to be kept in a closed container, as they are considered weapons for some reason. The reason being, that the blade can be opened one handed and fastened.

Yes, flipper-knifes (one-hand-knifes) and locked blades are illegal to carry in germany (and probably in most eu countries). You really shouldnt carry that thing in your pocket or on your waistband (as long as you are not at work). You are probably not going to jail for it, but it could cause you some headache.

My apologies 😔 - I left original comment at beginning so didn’t know about your grandfather passing. My condolences to you & your family. Thank you for sharing this with us. It is indeed different when things like this happen when one is away & I agree with others here who've been supportive & echo their sentiments. It was always hard to get news like this when I was on tour & at least back then I had my fellow roadies & later, when I was in the Navy, my fellow squadron mates; both who were a big support during times like this. We're all human, as someone said, & it's these things that bring us together, allow us know we're not alone, & enable your followers to let you know they're here for you as well. My sentiments to you & your family. I know you didn't share this, like you stated, for sympathy reasons. However, I can see from reading the comments & having the honor of being one of your followers, that ALL of your followers are here to support you through not only the good times, but times like these as well. Apologies to you & everyone for yet another long comment. Hopefully what I wrote at least made sense. Very Respectfully, Lady Anne

Have carried 1 for years now and they are amazing. I recommend getting more bits from them for the screw driver. Also you can use Bosch t shank blades in the file/saw tool. Sorry for your loss Tank. Everyone deals with loss differently, it turns out for me it's through music. There is a song that by Ben Metzner (Feuerschwanz - Auf Wiederseh'n kzitem.info/news/bejne/s5yq3aVuo4Oln44) that really helped me deal with my loss over the years (very beautiful song), it really let's me pour out my feelings. Three years ago he wrote a second song with his other band (dArtagnan - Solang dein Blut kzitem.info/news/bejne/knhs2G2OaqWQi2k) that is a bit more uplifting, you can tell he had more time to deal with his loss. I now like to first listen to Feuerschwanz - Auf Wiederseh'n and after getting my feelings out of the system listen to dArtagnan - Solang dein Blut to get me in a more uplifting mood, thinking about the good times i had with them. I hope you also have songs that will help you deal with grief, if not maybe you will like these. Best wishes from Germany

Sorry for your loss Tank ❤️❤️ I can’t imagine how difficult it is to be away from home, but it’s also comforting that you are around people who care about you enough that they can provide that support for you if needed.

I don't know what you looked up but induction is almost as cheap as anything else nowadays. A 4 top like that was around 400€ from Ikea. Great stuff but also can mess up your nonsticks easily and they can dump loads of energy in a short time. Maybe it's low demand (and thusly high in price) in the US due to some kind of belief that gas is better although it's really the worst in terms of pure performance.

I know you're not looking for sympathy, even still... I'm sorry for your loss. He might have been up there in age, and like you said, no longer struggling, but it's still hard for those of us left behind. We miss them when they're gone. Thank you for doing these behind the scenes vlogs. I've enjoyed watching them.

dude, that beard is in desperate need for a trim ^^ touring takes its toll, even on the epic beards, i guess... little heads up: your knife seems to be illegal to carry in germany (§42a WaffG). so be mindful that it can get pretty expensive if police catches you in public carrying that.

Ab wann sollen wir anfangen deutsch zu schreiben Tank? 😅 As I already wrote in a previous comment, it would definitely be a great experience for your whole family to live in Germany if such an opportunity came up.

With induction, start with setting 5. It will buzz. I just bought a 2 pit induction stove for 69 euro Condoleances on your granddad.

Matt Horn adds public domain audio over the potential copyright music in his drum tech videos. Usually birds chirping. Good idea to protect yourself. Just a bit of extra work to do.

Be careful with that knife. Carrying it (one-hand open, locking blade knifes) in public is illegal in Germany, though allowed to have at home / at a work site.

Sorry to hear your news man.. That's rough dood. Your words made me reflect on your words in your last vlog. about the weird popularity side of the whole You Tube thing and how people know you.. I'm thinking it's at times like this that you have an even greater family around you than you may know. Be well and keep rolling man.

Part of Life is that Life ends... He got to see your dad grow up, he got to see you grow up and he got to meet Ingrid. I don't think he'll meet St. Peter with any regrets even though he couldn't do much at the end. For you it's gonna hurt, but no man is truly dead while his memory lives on, so part of him will be with you, and the things he taught you that make you the person you are, you will teach Ingrid. I'm sorry for your loss. And people who think you just covered it for sympathy are shitheads and don't deserve the time of day.

I can so much relate on that. Not just the leatherman (which is really cool btw) but also the roadie life that is much like the life at a film set. I got the call that my grandma passed away at luchtime. 10 min later we were back shooting and I wasn't really realizing everthing. It first became real at the funeral some days later. I was lucky to be able to join it. As you said others where not, since they need to work. That is really the downside of the job. Hope you and your familie are as well as you can be in that situation. Much love.

Sorry man, a loss is always hard. I buried my aunt last week, so yeah its hard. Life is tough. But there is one thing I would really love you to do, and that is how the h.... Henrik Linder in dirty loops does what he does in there new song Run Away. His tech and skill there are just amazing.

Hi Tank, I don't know if someone allready told you, but you're not allowed to carry a folding knife you can open with one hand if it has a locking mechanism for the blade at the same time (not sure if your knife has) in public space in Germany. (With few oscure exeptions.) You're allowed to own them however. And afaik they're totaly fine in Austria. Don't get me wrong, I'm not this stereotypical 100% correct German, but the German law classifies these knifes as weapons and you're risking some realy hefty fines. Up to to *several thousand* Euros! - Just for having it in your pocket! 🤯
