Im not Scottish, Im not even British for that matter, but I really keep my fingers crossed & wish you guys as fast & obstacle-free road to independence as possible. I truly hope that Britain won’t take a page from Spanish book & try to stop you guys by hook or by crook- or should i rather say by violent suppression & persecution. You guys are such a great nation with such a long, rich history, your own distinct language (which i wasn’t even aware of until very recently) & such a compassionate, tolerant, great ppl- you really don’t need this Westminster “boot” on your face.

Well said Craig the summing up at the end was particularly impressive and forceful. When I listen to this and consider what Ash Regan is saying (assuming she would follow-through, and I think she would) for the first time in many years I feel hope that we can get this done. Thank you.

Very well and clearly argued Craig, Scandinavia should provide a good model for how, when the UK and even England, breaks up, we can, if we want to, all get on.

I had no idea you had a youtube channel Craig. Fantastic!!! You should definitely be doing these streams regularly. I have never trusted any of our institutions & have suffered much at their hands throughout my life but after what they did to you and Alex I never will & have been profoundly radicalized to the point I must act against this overtly fascist bureaucracy. You & Alex have my unwavering respect & solidarity! ✊

We vote for independence not for devolution, 8 years and 6 mandates of nothing no campaigning from the SNP it is clear the dark state have infuriated the SNP. If with a change of Leadership we still have continuing acquiescence and complicity from the SNP we will dump the SNP and start voting for genuine Independence partys. We have had enough of the sham independence party, they have been served notice.

If Scotland wants to be independent it will be and nothing will stop it. I'd much rather it happened with 75% of Scots rather than 50% plus 1. A nation starting it's new journey split down the middle would be awful.

Look at Brexit 51/49 % if its good enough for UK to leave EU a similar proportion of votes will do for Scotland’s exit.

Exactly! This 60%, 70%, 99% whatever target getting bandied about is complete bollocks imo, and Brexit has shown the inherently antidemocratic hypocrisy of it all.

The thing is , we had way more than 50% in 2014 it’s just that we allowed english people to vote and they overwhelmingly voted against Scottish independence which gave the NO vote a majority, for that reason alone anything above 50% is a majority and a majority is all that’s needed, we wouldn’t be starting with a split down the middle either because nearly all those English people in Scotland would reject Scottish nationality and a Scottish passport they have no interest in assimilation they want colonisation still they would always have a choice a choice we Scot’s don’t have , they can always go back to their own free country as many actually said they would if Scotland ever became independent,

@@terencecallachan1659 This is true, but since 2014 there has been a steady increase in English people living and working in Scotland who would be happy with independence and would even support it. A few years ago, when I was working for myself as an independent subcontractor and I had a job in Scotland somebody in my office asked me if I would vote for Independence in a second referendum. Because this person was what he was I wasn't going to give him the exact answer he wanted, but I did say that I wasn't registered to vote in a Scottish constituency but that if I was I would never vote for the Blue Tories and I wouldn't vote for the Red Tories either.

Interesting analysis. However in a situation where there is a narrow majority support for a prospective government advocating UDI would you not think that the course of action you describe would lead to significant internal strife, i.e. determined Scots unionists (making up, perhaps 49%) siding with UK. It could get quite ugly. Is this not what is behind the likes of Humza's gradualism: arguably he would take the same course of action as you are advocating here in the face of UK intransigence should (say) 60% have voted in favour of UDI.
@jananilcolonoscopu4034

What is behind Humza's gradualism is that his salary depends on it, and upon maintaining the powerless devolved Scottish pseudo-government. Humza- and the likes of Humza- depend on the apparently unassailable naivete of all those who express similar thoughts to yours to remain in a position in which they can draw said salary.

@@michaelansell9203 You didn't make any "points". Rather, you made a series of unsubstantiated claims, e.g: "Humza's avoiding a declaration of independence because he fears civil strife". You have no evidence to support these bizarre, naive claims. Throw your crystal ball away; it's rose-tinted.

@@michaelansell9203 49% is a minority , Scottish independence would go ahead if unionists have only 49% , if it gets ugly it will not deter us , we can handle the ugly minority , remember a large portion of the unionist vote is English people , those English people always have the option of going back to England if they want to , many of them said in 2014 that they would go back to England if Scotland votes for independence , we don’t mind if they do ,its a choice we Scot’s don’t have , we can’t go back to our own free country until independence is secured, history shows that many many people return to their home country once it becomes independent , I think this will happen to Scotland too.
