I really like the new location. No question this is a very busy hook-up yard. I assume the trucks that comes from Brisbane picks up their second trailers here. The Wyton SAR is indeed a breathtakingly beautiful machine. Simple design, but effective and pretty sharp. The blue fuel tanks are very cool. Fantastic update, it's great we can enjoy your videos again.

I like coloured tanks on the white trucks over the chrome zsolt, but that's only my view.yeh it's a busy pad,the trucks can't go any further with the 2nd trailers.it should be double the size though,I feel for the truckies mate.stupid govts have opened up more routes for roadtrains but can't get the infrastructure right.that pad doesn't even have proper toilets,a couple of lousy portaloos,it's a disgrace.

Thanks for uploading, nice to see. Maybe a bit more talking? Or maybe I'll do some to compensate & to chuck in a western flavour. What a wonder, proper modern hookups are. I well remember what they were like pre-GFC. Tiny, dark, & so impossibly over crowded. None at all in Perth. Wubin on a Friday night especially, but at any time really, was rubbish, you just couldn't get in to do the deed, & you couldn't find a slot to drop a dog on the return either, & Wubin is "the hub" for northbound traffic. Carnarvon was good for coastal, but its 600 kms north of Perth & running dogs up there is uselessly expensive, with Karratha & Hedland being not much further it was expedient to just run double all the way. Besides Perth to Hedland is exactly the same distance on the coast road as it is on the Gt Northern. Anywhere else was & likely still is dirt with 1/2 metre deep holes. Decrepit & steep & dark ramps. I recall stacking flat tops at the Tom Price turnoff once, & never again. The run up the ramp with just one axle on the tri's touching ground, & the trailer you're backing the trailer & dolly onto, completely out of sight. You needed a very high profile turntable to even consider that. There after I'd run long all the way down to Mt Magnet to stack for the run in to Perth, but beware if it was wet. The least attempt to turn & that's where you stayed. Going east or south was horrible because you could only come down Greenmount into Perth single, & Northam hookup is 100 kms away, so you'd have to track back up the hill again to pick up the dog when you were long ago already knackered.

Next Roma series i will do a bit more talking native,i have tried not to because the truck and motor is the star to me,that has to be no 1.gee mate, you did it tough over there in the early days with the break ups of your trailers,I hope the WA government has built a few more pads since then.mate the gatton pad,yes it's tared but only 2 crappy portoloos and it should have been twice that size, its chock a block there.useless governments.they bleed trucking companies and owner drivers dry in taxes and in return shitty roads and amenities, especially qld mate, you got no idea how bad the roads are mate.at least the trucks are unbelievable these days compared your early start and when I was young.the drivers of today don't have a lot to complain about really.incredible horsepower, fridges, micros, ice boxes, power steering and windows, plenty of sleeping space just to name a few,and a lot better wages

@@TheCt300 That wasn't the earlies, that was right up to the GFC. The earlies were a whole different world. & I do know how bad QLD roads are because when Northwest work halved overnight with the GFC, I ran Perth to Brisbane solo, a round trip every week, & those roads were lethal. Small detail commentary from knowledge & experience is sauce, as is maybe the odd interview too, & also you can always talk on the radio, just don't do it on 40, or 5.

@returnofthenative I wish you were still in the drivers seat native, you would be great to interview with all your experiences.on some sections of qld roads,im down to 70kmh or i bottom out,i feel for the roadtrain drivers pulling doubles and triples mate.my next trip to Roma I reckon I can get a couple of interviews,a few of the truckies have got to know me now, timing has to be right though.as you know they come in to hook up,most are in a hurry to get going again.next trip id like to film doing a walk around a c500,904,908,909 or 900,6900 star and a older style Mack.i also want to explain 3 decks to 6 and a half decks as I had a question about that before.i reckon my 2024 Roma videos should be my best ever.good talking to you mate

Have to say the trucks have heaps of lighting at night on them now. Very similar lighting to the US highway trucks. I am in Perth and have noticed that the rules must be different. Currently Rear Dump Trucks, Tubs that carry the Iron ore on the trucks, Big Switchboards heading north in usually two or three trailers behind the prime movers. They are not allowed in the metro area. Must be fleet upgrades going on in the mines. Brands are a variety-Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi, etc. I lived in Sydney many years ago - Where is Gatton.

Gatton is about 70kms out from Toowoomba on the Brisbane side Aurelius.its the cut off point for the double roadtrains.yes, lots of lights on the trucks these days mate, the last hour of the day for me is the best for the videos because of of the lights.im sure you see some biguns your way heading up north
