Nice video! How long do you normally wait for the freshly roasted beans before grinding them?

Thanks 😊 I usually wait a day but there’s no rule. After a day the beans become more and more flavorful. Thanks for watching!

I have a similar unit. I'm in the US, so, unfortunately, for our voltage, the max bean weight is 100 grams. That means that the roast chamber is smaller than this one. I do push the max a little bit by putting 4 ounces in it. That's the amount my other fuid bed roasters use, so it keeps consistent batch sizes for me. The base is of similar design, though. Once I set the time and temp, the unit automatically cycles through the fan speed throughout the roast cycle. That alters turbulence and heat build up so I don't have to keep making manual adjustments throughout the roast cycle.

Oh that’s why the fan speed changes during roasting. Good tips! Thanks for watching!

So what's the advantage of roasting at home vs going to a roaster and buying 5 lbs of coffee freshly roasted already? Just bought some coffee from Peru at $12 lb. Seems reasonable to me and none of the headache and smelling up the home. Are the beans cheaper if you buy them raw?

Totally reasonable to just buy roasted beans. They are a bit cheaper raw… at least where I live. Mostly it’s the flavor of freshly roasted beans for me and I enjoy the process. That being said, I still enjoy drinking coffee brewed from already roasted beans too. Thanks for watching!
