On the person who had loads of favourites: personally, I've read 334 books on Goodreads - 130 of those are on my favourites shelf. HOWEVER, I add every single book in a series to my favourites shelf because I rank my favourites by series, not really by individual books. So overall there's actually only 40 unconnected stories on my favourites shelf.

Also, I wonder if people like the one who had the Rory Gilmore profile pic are aware of some conflict between what they "should" be reading vs what they actually like to read. Hence why they have a bunch of classics five stars (aspiring to the Rory Gilmore image) and then read so many Colleen Hoover books and rate them lower (bc they don't have the same academic reputation boost). Just a theory

IT ENDS WITH US SPOILER: My opinion on Colleen Hoover that nobody wanted: i don't like colleen hoover but I sometimes read her books because people constantly tell me how good her books are and convince me to read another one i don't know why this always happens. i like romance but colleen hoover always wants to write about serious stuff, but the characters always act so weird. Acting cringe and out of character is fine (and i can enjoy that, especially in romance books like the love hypotheses) but not when you write about serious stuff like abuse, etc. i HATED it ends with us because Ryle acted weird since the beginning. i think the book should have shown how hard it is to get out of an abusive relationship because those women also see the good/charming side of their abuser and find excuses for their behavior but where was Ryle’s good/charming side? They barely have any conversations where you could be like ah I can see why lily likes him. The only reason you get is that he is a neurosurgeon and good-looking. in my opinion the book would have been perfect if Ryle would be normal at first and then later in the book started acting abusive. The way Hoover wrote this i can’t understand how lily fell in love with him in the first place. He took a picture of her the first time they met and hung it up in his living room even though they barely knew each other. I don't know if this should have been cute but i just thought what a creep. If he would have acted like a normal guy who is into her and later when they spend more time with each other confront her with his mood swings i would have liked the book. (I am dyslexic, and English is not my first language I am sorry for all the spelling and grammar errors)
