I've got a snapper 1200... best gun ever!!! accurate! good power... easier to load than other guns because it's a double 14. Power and precision at range! It's a dream! I recommend any spearo to get 1. You're gonna love it. Probably should put on both bands every time but you can land some decent sized fish pretty easily with it!

Why you calling it a pipe gun when it clearly has rails

The Sparid model will be a good option for some (1x16mm which can be upgraded to 2 bands or 1x20mm - but it really doesn't need it) . Having used both open muzzle and closed muzzle spearguns (inc. an RA) for several years each, I prefer the open muzzle option: quicker to load, slightly less tangles. Carbon would be nice these days tho' ;)

I've heard the tuna can be a bit heavy in the front. I'm super new to spearguns so just curious

not so much.. however they at times add weight plugs in the muzzle and on the shorter ones can cause some of that heaviness you mentioned

I don't know about the barrels being stronger than other railgun barrels. Most barrels are made from 6063 grade aluminium as it is the best for extrusions. Does RA use a special alloy or even heat treat it? I had issues with a 1.3 RA flexing when using twin 16mm rubbers, had to go to single 18mm rubber

Check the diameter on the inner walls on the RA and compare to any other alumi pipe gun on the market... very few will match it. At 1.3 with big power its possible to see flexing, would go CF :)

RA says the wall thickness is 1.45mm, where as most euro guns and other Railguns i have used are 1.5mm. There is also not much meat in the RA rails compared to others. I think this may have been a factor with my bendy barrel. They are still a good gun, but in Oz there are better guns for the price.

We have compared to Pathos, Salvimar, and several other and were thinner....... Maybe some companies use different ways to measure walls perhaps by the rail maybe? Odd indeed

Rob Allen's handles and triggers are just terrible! He may have pioneered the trade a few years back but he has to update ... (Theyr blue rubbers are good tho)
