That motor just ripped. When he got off the line it was like an arrow going down the strip. I don't think he even had it opened up completely. Great run, great hot rod. Looking good gang.

I swear that half the people on here need to get a grip on their own manhood and quit the shit talking. Dudes got a badass ride here and that's all there is to it. If it runs that good by only half ass getting on it what does that say about you flogging the snot out of your ride and still not breaking into single digit times?

With 820 C.I. and as light as this car is 7.40 at 184.00 is expected. What I will say that shocked me is most any of these I have seen go guard rail hunting thus making them useless for running any type of decent 1/4 mile pass. Nice straight run. Didn't sound to me as he was running it hard yet still a nice number. This a Ratrod that does have some great performance to go along with it's radical street appeal. Good presence of mind to back up and restage after rolling the beam.

Actually a good looking car, well proportioned, clean stylish lines and obviously well engineered. Only a fool would be thinking this is a Rat Rod. Don't let the headlights and radiator fool ya, back in the day this would run in a competition coupe or altered class.

Hell yes!!! a Rat rod is what you want it to be. Nice to see one that isn't some no suspension rust bucket trying to fall apart. Kudos to you for building what you want... and you built one bad piece, sir. I hope I don't get the lane next to you... makes my 9 second rat seem tame. Sweet!
@scottlindemann9536

The term “rat rod” refers to an unfinished appearance of a hot rod. Basically a hodge-podge of car parts. When a part does not work or needs to be replaced, you don't go to the store to buy a new piece, you simply find it off of another vehicle and attache it on.

We never called it a rat. Its just something we wanted to build. We liked the challenge of doing something that, to our knowledge, hadn't been done yet. Robert took it back to the track yesterday ( I had to work and didn't go). The vid should be up soon........lots of daylight under the front tires. BTW it has a tag, insurance, lights and turn signals, mufflers and does get driven on the street in Canton, Ga. occasionally. You should see the stares..... Steve

I get your point, but what does exactly define a Rat Rod? Is it the budget involved? Maybe using 90% junkyard pieces define this class of vehicle? That actually sounds pretty accurate, I think.

To qualify for "street legal", part of the test is to drive it for extended miles on the street, to the racetrack. The official "fastest street car on Earth" drove 1200 miles to the race track with the hood sealed shut with an official tape and then ran a 6.95 in the quarter. It was literally street legal.

This is one of the most bad ass cars ever but its not a rat rod. Rat rods look beat up, typically have some body damage, and are CHEAP. You could buy 50 rat rods with the amount of money the owner of this car spent on that engine.
