He reminds me so much of Heath Ledger. Both insecure, looking for versatile roles that they think they couldn't play and incredible actors, no doudt...
@laraschiwago9928
3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. They are so much alike in so many ways. Similar career paths (from popular Teenie movies, rom coms and Blockbusters to indie and arthouse or just weird productions/challenging roles), similar acting styles (both are not method actors, both are extremely dedicated to their roles), both extremely versatile (and intense) actors, both are extremely talented and interested in other arts than acting (Heath was into photography and film making, Rob is an excellent singer/musician), both have very supportive and loving families (and in Rob's case also longtime friends) and their personalities are so much alike too. Like you said: both are so insecure, always doubting themselves, both are introverts (and quite shy at times), both are very humble, extremely friendly and nice, very charming (without trying to be), dedicated to their roles and acting as an art. They are very private people (with a deep aversion to the press - that made their lives hell at times), Rob hates too much attention and has quite an aversion to fame in general - and so did Heath. They never thought about themselves as being someone "special" (although they have both that special "something", charisma). Both don't really fit into the usual Hollywood crowd. And last but not least: both remained very "normal", authentic, genuine, down-to-earth people (not behaving like celebs in general), they didn't change, they remained the exact same persons they were before they became famous and were so insanely successful. I will never forget all these normal people from Heath's NYC neighbourhood who had so many (and only nice) stories to tell about him (nobody said a bad word about him) and who were genuinely shocked and sad when he died. Everyone seemed to like him (Heath as a person, not as a celeb) - very much so. (When I first came to NYC I went to his apartment a few months after his death, just to light a candle and put some flowers there. When I arrived there.... There were a lot of new candles and fresh flowers there, people still went to his apartment months after his death in order to remember him and to express their condolences.) Rob's the same. He's has no airs and graces, no ego. Although Rob has social anxiety (and body dysorphia) he lives quite a wholesome (and healthy) life, has a great family and friends, he isn't a troublemaker or into drugs. He learned to deal with his anxiety, not letting it take control. Unfortunately poor Heath had to battle more severe mental health problems - depression and insomnia. Until this day I still don't understand how the only thing his doctors did, the only help they gave him, was prescribing him pills, not even checking what other stuff he got prescribed from other doctors. The most tragic thing is that his death really was preventable. That this amazing actor and likeable person could still be alive. Honestly, a few times I thought about how effing incredible it would be if Rob and Heath - these insanely gifted and outstanding actors - could both be in one movie together. Can you imagine Rob as Batman and Heath as Joker in a movie together? World domination, a perfect match - just epic...

"Everyone's supposed to be an 'activist' or whatever as an actor. But I didn't become an actor to be a politician, I became an actor to do interesting movies." I love this quote, because Rob *gets* it. He gets the fact that most people *don't* want to be preached at and told what to think or how to feel. He understands (and wants other people to understand) that he's just a human being. He comes off like the *least* 'celebrity-like" celebrity, because he seems to just want to do his job and at the end of the day go on about his life, until the next opportunity comes along. I also like the fact that he seems to thrive off of people's lowered expectations of him, because he's sure been proving them wrong with his work the last nine years. He's *earned* the role of Batman, and I hope he crushes it so he can continue to prove his detractors wrong. And if the teaser trailer is the little bit we have to go by so far, he's well on his way.

I was one of the hive minded people that were like "Twilight bad, pretty boy Pattinson bad" and then I watched a movie featuring him called "The Devil All the Time" and he fucking killed that role, and then later I got the chance to watch TeneT and he killed that role too, so after those movies I gained a bit of respect for him as an actor.

I absolutely love this video! Its was so nice to just watch and reminisce Robert Pattinson's progress through the years, its also so refreshing that an actor like rob exists; he is sooo talented and has so much versatility with his roles and he doesn't even know how amazing he is, which is actually what keeps him to only keep getting better and better. this video also made me so emotional because it made me fall in love with him more; even though there are still lots of things we dont know about him since he is a celebrity, you can still really tell how real and genuine rob is. I am too thankful that he exists and that this video exists.

25:41 this girl with the glasses straight up took a picture with him and only cared about getting the picture. Didn’t say thank you or bye or anything. Idk why but it struck me and made me sad.

Patterson is extremely talented and maximised his exposure when he was cast in Harry potter, that set his stage, and he has proven time and time again he can cover big roles small roles and at the same time shed his Harry potter and Twilight roots, you forget Patterson but always remember his characters.

He is infp btw We underrating ourselves, I am infp too Very shy,socially awkward,passionate(sometimes getting obsession of interesting theme on moment),idealist,individualistic,naive,openharted and empathetic(a lot high expectations from our selves,because of perfectionisme) I can thinking how weird he was thinking are this girls. And yeah,responsibility,sceduals is not ours Freedom,messy,spontaneous,clumsy is more ours.

I'm sorry. But I just want it to go on record that I fully support Robert playing Batman even before the first trailer came out. For reasons that were mentioned heavily in this video.

Great writing Jake. Awesome exploration as always and I’m excited for the rest of your 2021 work. If you’re ever considering a larger production, not found footage, capture some original interviews on good film, I’d love to collaborate and support you pro-bono. Just love your work and excited to see it develop.

Everyone says he isn't bulking up for the Batman. Look at him in the black sweater at the end. He's also hiding it under big clothes. He's on contract for Dior, so doesn't have to dress that way.

Thank you for making this, I never knew he was a down to earth person who cared about the art over "celebrity", after watching this I will definitely go back through his catalogue and check out some of his less popular films......Not to mention I'm into fashion and my man can dress his A.s off!

When I saw him in Life, playing Dennis Stock, that's the moment I KNEW he was a great actor. Underrated film. Dane Dehaan as James Dean is really good in it as well. I grew up during the Twilight era and my little sister loved it, so naturally I scoffed at it, but I got a little older and noticed him in Life and so on. He's a great actor, he did a great job as Bruce Wayne/Batman. I can't wait to see what comes next from him.

Its great he stays private and focuses his career on just his acting. That twilight type of obsessive craze can't be healthy. loved him Goodtime and the Lighthouse. Excited for his batman role.

Guys: it's wierd how much I realte to Robert Pattinson: I absolutely was not expecting this. I'm five years younger than him but respond to attention as an artist in very similar way. If I were in his shoes, there is not many things that I would have done differently. They mention the Barnes Theater Club early on in this episode- I went there twice for a 24 hours actathon where everyone improvised drama until they ran out of energy. Holy crap, I cannot believe that Pattinson used to go there. I'm now a practising artist photographer living in Berlin but the idea of social media freaks me out. I hate it. I viewmyself as a gifted toddler playing with crayons- i just want to do what comes naturally to me, I don't want to sacrifice my authenticity/ originality by taking part in the same social media that everyone else is climbing over each other to make a success of.

I’m happy for his success overpowering the drama with his past relationships with Kristen & the unfortunate split w/ FKA Twigs due to racism from twilight fans . He is a phenomenal actor
