The fact that Thierry Henry missed all those chances and still ended up with 39 goals and 15 assists that season is insane!

He was acually missing a lot of chances every season. But that was his strength - he was able to get into so many chances and create many on his own because of his immense quality.

That's what I have said for years now. Henry was NOT clinical at all. He actually missed a lot of chances. But the thing is, he was so great as a forward, he would create chance after chance after chance and eventually score a few goals anyway so nobody really paid attention to it. But as a natural finisher, guys like Ian Wright and Anelka were better than Henry

Henry owns it all the time since his retirement that he was not a natural finisher. This is why Wenger took a gamble on Jeffers as a poacher 🤦🏾♂️. This was a team that created chance after chance and eventually would score a goal or 2.

14 goals in the Prem 3 years in a row plus lots of assists and playmaking. Carried the ball up well and always open for hypnotic one twos that ushered in our champagne football era. Actually world class during his time and a key component of the best left flank the Prem has ever seen (Pires Henry A Cole)

And if you add a certain Henry to the mix, who was drifting towards the left wing all the time (naturally he was a left winger) you know you're in trouble.

Way better than Eden Hazard ever was. Didn't dribble in circles. Didn't need the team to revolve around him to be effective and play intelligent football. Technically superior team player.

unfortunately not, he's more of a goalscorer as opposed to an all-round player so don't think it would make for a great comp in the style I make them

@@souster98 sorry but I have to disagree here strongly. Seems you overlooked Wiltord as a player and you're doing great unjustice to him. You made a video about Freddie, he didn't have more flair or technique than Wiltord. Obviously same goes for Parlour. Wiltord was a great all round player, always fitted in so easily into our game and flow up front. Didn't have the flair and skills of Henry, Bergkamp and Pires... I'd day he was more skilled and technical than Freddie. Had great awareness for the players around, great link up and vision, was a great team player. A nice dribbler too. Had some esquisite touches and moves at times. Was able to provide a cover as a winger too, and played many hames as a winger for the NT too. I always enjoyed seeing him on the pitch. Just a goalscorer simply wouldnt be able to play for that team, you had to be a great all round player to play for that Arsenal team, and Wiltord definitely was that. He offers more than enough to make a great compilation (again, probably more than Freddie; who's main attribute was his off the ball movement and runs, and that doesn't give you great material for KZitem), but that goes for his first three seasons at the club. Sadly he missed the most of the Invincible season because of the injury. He as a very important part in the double winning team in 2002, also in that team that played brilliant football in 2003 (easily better than in 2004, but we had better defence in 2004) that won the cup and should've won the league too. Also did great in 2001.

@@siberianTiger639 agreed, it's a case of If you know, you know... Wiltord was silky too, and clutch. For Arsenal maybe not a super prolific goalscorer for Arsenal, but Wenger has his plans and they worked out.

@hfc and what are you going off of? Have you ever watched Wilord (no offence)? He was quite technical, again very good passer, very good awareness, link up... Didn't take much to notice. His quality definitely went over the heads of quite a few people. Some even go as far to consider him a flop at Arsenal because he was our record signing for many years, which is quite crazy. Again, obviously Henry was our best player, and he had to compete with BERGKAMP for his place mostly. Even Kanu was a very good player but he was comfortably behind Witord in the pecking order. He could do a very good job on the wing, but Ljungberg was simply a better pure winger/midfielder, Wiltord was a striker primarily. He also did great for Lyon after he left Arsenal (that was that legendary Lyon generatiom that dominated the league for years and played great in the CL too) and all the Lyon fans rate him super highly and will tell you're crazy if you say he was just a goalscorer. He was in the League 1 team of the year for two seasons in a row, after he left Arsenal, and managed to go to the WC 2006 with the NT, but he wasn't scoring many goals at all. That alone tells you quite a lot how he was much more than just a goalscorer.

@@siberianTiger639 You make some good points. I do think he was good in his first 2 seasons with us, then after a good start in 02/03 he really lost his way with us in my opinion. by 03/04 he cold barely get a start. Maybe I am underrating his all-round play somewhat.
