Though I absolutely was all in for Plant during the Zep days and about the first half of his solo career, the second half doesn't do much for me. But that is perfectly OK - I'm one who has ever thought that an artist should stop if they don't want to. If you don't like what an artist is doing anytime during their career, you have the option of not spending your money or time on them. But I will blast Physical Graffiti and Pictures At Eleven until I can no longer hear...

Talk of touring with page jpj etc is disrespectful. Saving Grace has become the perfect environment for Robert at this time of life. What started as a kind of hobby endulgence has blossomed into what I would regard as a most authentic platform to showcase and rework zep classics. I heard Robert clearly state that a few years back he asked Jimmy if he had some accoustic stuff to work on. Jimmy apparantly walked. So here you have what Robert feels comfortable with and thats thanks to a wonderful highly competent and beautifully arranged ensemble. From this show i heard the most gorgeous version of the rain song. Could you ask for anything better? Its interesting that its about 5 years that Robert has been involved and there seems no pressure to revord an album, just enjoy each ithers company and thrill both themselves and an expecpectant audience. Truly magical. Well done Mr Plant.

Just love this band's folky interpretations of classic Zeppelin songs, really works for tracks such as this. I wish I'd known about this gig, must have been an amazing night! Robert Plant's vocals are allowed to shine with a band like this and none of the magic is lost. Robert...you totally ROCK!!! Thank you.

How about an acoustic tour, Page, Plant, JPJ, and Jason B, the 4 of them just like the LZ acoustic sets of the 70s....they could pull it off brilliantly.

I appreciate your position and agree with your statement. I'm 64 years old and have been playing professionally, in bands with Marshall Stacks and all the crunch that they are known for, but as of late I found myself leaning towards cleaner soundscapes rather than over the edge guitar distortion.. People change. Jimmy Page is one of my biggest influences. He's so good he dominates the musical landscape of any song. And we have found that Robert Plant's musical endeavors, (for the most part) since zeppelin, has produced songs with wonderful clean tones. Robert Plant's "Big Log" for example. Or his work with Alison Krauss. Perhaps like me, Robert Plant has developed a fancy for "headroom" in his music. I was a bonafide Marshall Rock n Roller for many years. Now I really dig Clean Headroom.

At 75 years old, he's looking and sounding really old, but you have to admire him for still wanting to perform. I'm sure he's doing it just for fun, because he's certainly rich enough that he doesn't need the money. And he probably enjoys all the positive attention that he is getting. It's also good to see that he still has reasonably good health. Entertainment is a basic human need, and Robert Plant certainly has given society much more than most!

You think with him selling out shows and coming out with critically acclaimed albums would say other wise. I really don’t think that’s the case at all, and the majority of the opinion is the opposite of what you’re saying.

@@kemdo123 That is because there are a lot of people who are in denial because he is Robert Plant. In fact, I was a great fan for years. I loved Zeppelin and even Plant's excellent eighties to early nineties solo work. The last real great album, which Plant sounded like himself was "Fate Of Nations." After that, he was disappointing. These days, he is terrible. I'm not sure what happened, but to me, his voice has been shot for years. I would not pay to see him in person and sit through these really bad performances. Certain fans will praise an artist no matter what. I'm not that kind of fanatic. I can express my opinion too.
@kemdo123

@@jakepepper2279 Probably have to disagree with you there. Compare him Phil Collins, Chuck Berry in his later years and also The Who and I think you'll find his career, and skill is soaring compared to them. I also love all of them who I mentioned, and if ever I saw one of my favourite artists and thought that they were shit, i'd have no issue in saying so. But it's just not the case here and he can back himself up with critically acclaimed albums and sold out tours within the last 5/6 years to now.
@jakepepper2279

@@kemdo123 But to whom are Robert Plant's later albums critically acclaimed? It is media payola, based on who he was. Everything after "Fate Of Nations" has been bad, but his most recent work is terrible. Of course, as an ex fan, my opinion also matters. As for Phil Collins, he was in rough shape, which is why he retired. But even sitting in a chair, he could still sing. Robert Plant's voice is shot. He should retire, but some are still cheering him on. With countless millions in the bank, no ex member of Zeppelin need to work again.
