@@BigMuddyCountry I saw him play with clapton in, I think, Foxboro MA. Didn't know who he was, but he tore it up and Clapton was just kind of standing off to the side looking at him like he does Derek Trucks sometimes.

Saw Robert Randolph at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. during the Experience Hendrix Tour. Mick Taylor and Robert Randolph played Purple Haze.. I'm here to tell you.. Robert Randolph by far the most underrated musician on this planet. When they cut lose on Purple Haze man they blew the roof off of the place. The sound man wasn't afraid to crank up the volume and Robert was making that pedal steel talk... One of the best shows I've ever seen...

Jimi is still around all of us, we all know when we see him in artists like Robert. Prince channeled him the most. Then SRV did also. Check out Zack Person, Jimi will never leave us behind.

This guy is the closest thing to a Jimi Hendrix that my generation has! Not because he plays face melting solos... which he does insanely well, but because he is the only guy doing anything new wit guitar anymore! Who would've thought that someone would think to do a Hendrix song on a pedal steel??

It's pretty awesome that this man trained in the beautiful Black American Sacred Steel tradition by a Pentacostal church would bother performing this song at all! Very awesome, love how he got the crowd going and love that they have blessed us by branching out musically! Wow!

Sounds to me like an octave fuzz pedal. I play through a Dunlop Octavio and the sound is similar. Mine just gives a bit more boost, so this could possibly be an original Tycobrahe.
