It's July 2019 and Vogel just wandered into my backyard (southern WI), shooting the 54th string at 491 miles....2 shots from retention under 4 seconds. What a shooter!!

People outside the competition world often fail to understand the sort of skill levels possible. Vogel is demonstrably a full order of magnitude more skilled than police officers capable of "perfect" qualification scores. "The same Glock 35 I carried as a police officer, same one I won my first national championship with in 2007." Something to consider next time someone rants against match/competition gear.
@seannolen3445

What you do not understand is this is the “minimum requirement”. Many of officers, including myself, continue their firearm training into more specialized courses, some taught by military, SWAT or even SF dudes I’ve trained with. OPOTA maintains the guidelines, who makes this test. It is not nearly enough but I know plenty of guys that shoot and train much more than required.

@@seannolen3445 Good points. Yes, some police and military personnel do seek out more than minimum requirements, or even more than "perfect" qualification scores. Vogel is one example and you are as well. However, many others are not so motivated. I'm confident you personally know some.

I'm horrified that the standards for Ohio police shooting qualification are so low, especially when you consider that as long as they pass this stupid-simple test they aren't required to do any more training- and most don't. I can't fathom this- if I were in a profession in which my life might depend on my shooting skills, you can rest assured I'd attend every class I could afford. Hell, I shoot as much as I can as it is!

So what is the point of this video? To show how fast an accurate you are? It comes across as showing off to me. If anyone put the time an energy you do at the range they'd be just as good. Plus a Glock 34 is not a standard glock. It's Glocks competition gun with a longer sight radius an match barrel.
@deank5649

em Burgess it's showing other LEOs how easy the normal qualifications are so he is challenging himself by making it harder. The point is get out and practice more than just annual quals.
@VxNemesis

The point is that you can take any drill and modify it to become more difficult. He modified this very easy drill to challenge even him. And the drill isn't intrinsically bad, the things asked are pretty standard in all police and mil drills. You just have to adapt de distance and times to make it properly challenging.
