"what is a thought, not the content but the thought itself. It's just a little energy bubble" great advice, thank you so much

I love this man, unconditionally. He is so helpful in the way he explains things and teaches. Very humble, down to earth and uses humor and examplkes from his own life - which is all very helpful. I recommend whoever listens to him, to listen to the same material more than once.

Enjoyed your book (Why Buddhism is true) Rob. I love Joseph's talks that are available on the Waking up app from Sam Harris and seem to get more and more value out of them each time I listen. Grateful to discover Joseph has books and better yet reads them in audiobook form, he may think badly of his singing attempts but he is a wonderful speaker. I just got the one you mentioned and volume 1 of series. Thank you both :)

Relaxing around our resistance around people, perception, feeling, concept, habit, situation and coming to acceptance even for a day changes the whole dynamics of aversion, attachment, struggle, fetter, victim story and entanglement. I have experienced this. Love Joseph's explanation.

@49:00 "very strongly, conditioned, habitual identification." That reminds me of something a Mooji visitor said (in one of his satsang videos). She referred to as narcolepsy -- people who instantly fall asleep, their head lands in the plate of food they were eating. They don't see it coming. Wiping spaghetti from their face, "it happened again."

I'm thinking of a gazelle having the realization, "don't side with yourself ... why run from lions? ... this feels so freeing..." Maybe some have had that realization, however, my guess is Mother Nature selects against such enlightenment.

Thinking about your posture, breath, etc., taken too far (meaning very far at all) seems a bit stupefying. Probably one does not want to cultivate being "lost in sensation."

Too bad nobody is awakened. To include Joe. Making his book title an oversell at best. I didn't think it a very good guide to meditation either.

I think a human body is more solid and discrete than a rainbow. You walk up to a body and it doesn't disappear, in fact you can touch it. Not to say a rainbow isn't a thing either, one isn't much like the other. It's a rather poor analogy Joe. "Real, but not really real..." it's called double talk. Probably meditating to the point of having symptoms of depersonalization/derealization disorder, isn't attaining an ultimate truth, neat as it might seen in the moment.

Imagining, making believe, your thoughts coming from someone next to you? Lol, sounds like a kids game. Try that in collage at test time. If it were true, why study? Just let your neighbor do it. Obviously, Joe, knowledge you put into YOUR head, you can again retrieve from YOUR head. I have no doubt that believing such can be "very freeing" until test time, then not so much, and you'll wish you exercised more personal responsibility for your thoughts.
