Hilarious how such an extremely violent, graphic movie like RoboCop had a toyline and animated series aimed at kids. You don't see that anymore nowadays, kids' stuff based off of R-rated movies. Makes me all the more grateful to have been born in the 80s.

How do you feel when Rambo had toys in 1985 aimed at kids even merchandise based on Rambo 2 like coloring books, lunchbox, kids costumes, t-shirts, cards and all for kids? or what about Elm Street having a Freddy doll in 1989 or Aliens having action figures in 92 or Terminator having kids merchandise in 1991 based on T2 even lunchboxes, t-shirts, toys and all for kids? or one of the sickest films of the 80s The Toxic Avenger having kids toys/merchandise and a cartoon in 1991?

I used to love Alien and Predator from watching my dad play the old fps from the late 90s. I noticed some Halo lego sets or something. Wonder if instead of movies, kids have stuff from all the M rated video games. Either way, sucks to be a kid nowadays

@@halfbakedchannel6065 I feel lucky to have been born and grown up when I did. It's unreal to think such a violent film like RoboCop got both an animated series and toyline aimed at kids. No way that'd happen nowadays. I'm surprised there was never an Alien or Predator animated series back then, though there was the cancelled Operation: Aliens cartoon from the early 90s that never saw the light of day.

@@BonecrusherT800 I saw Robocop in theaters when i was 5 years old in St Louis with my 12 year old big brother and parents and we dug the movie as it rocked! i had the Marvel Superspecial comic and a few of these toys and when i was 6 i watched the animated show sunday mornings and saw Robocop 2 at the movies when i was 8. I saw Alien on video when i was 4 with my big brother who turned 11 in 86 with my parents and one of the first r-rated movies i ever watched and Aliens was the first r-rated movie i saw in theaters at that age with Cobra. And i had some of the toys when was 10 years old. For Toxic Avenger, 30 years ago when i was 9 as i dug the cartoon spin-off Toxic Crusaders as i had comics, a t-shirt, some toys, cards and all. I rented this movie to see where it all began and MY GOD what a shocking movie! i mean a kid getting his skull crushed in detail (that scene made me sick first time i saw it ), extreme brutality/gore, drug use and all and i was like "they made a kids cartoon out of this?" Yet the movie was awesome despite that horrific kid murder scene and one of my favorite b-movies.

Ngl, watching these commercials on KZitem ever since I was a kid besides watching the 1st Robocop movie on TV when I was also a kid along with some clips and episodes of the Alpha Commando cartoon also on KZitem that I thought looked alot cooler than the 2014 movie got me thinking... How come Robocop doesn't have his Mega Bloks line yet?? I mean, Predator,Aliens, and Terminator have their Mega Bloks and that's cool but imo I think Robocop also deserves a Mega Bloks line too :)

The bad guys are called Vandals in this toy ad. Calling the bad guys vandals in the original movie would be putting it nicely. RoboCop, T2, Aliens, The Land Before Time, The Brave Little Toaster, Secret of NIHM, The Goonies. We grew up on these movies, nobody thought it unusual that they're all extremely violent. The Brave Little Toaster is brutal af - the junkyard scene where the cars sing a song about their lamentations as they're crushed to death. Oof.

A KZitemr that posted a review on the 1988 ROBOCOP Nintendo Game said in his review "ROBOCOP is just an excuse to make a child graduate to more violence, I was seven when I saw ROBOCOP and that ended my childhood then and there." The other person in the KZitem video responded with "that's just it, if you ask someone what was their first R rated experience the answer is always ROBOCOP."
